Tiny toes.

Firstly Im very aware that if you are longing for your turn for tiny feet. I see you. It is tough and I can't suger coat that., it's s**t. Keep your faith and hope 🙏

Today I met a beautiful mum and her little baby for reflexology for colic symptoms.

Firstly if your child shows any discomfort or symptoms, changes in feeding or bowel motions, please consult your doctor.

Do not take health advice from a non medical professional. I've heard of complimary therapists advising parent to take baby off medications immediately, never EVER do that!

So what did I do today to help.

Firstly my own experience helps. My son had severe silent reflux, a very long story that I will tell again. But with the amount of research I have done on silent reflux, tongue ties, ige allergies, non ige.allergies, etc, I'm nearly at PhD level in gastro/allergy info 🤣

No amount of active listening compares to the real raw experience of a baby that never sleeps , has feeding issues and gastro issues. As my husband used to say, lack of sleep is a torture technique for a reason.

✨Sometimes half the healing is being heard and understood.

✨I gave the baby reflexology, concentrating on the intestines, stomach, oephagus, pineal glad (sleep)

✨I advised on safe sleeping, but slightly elevated to help with tummy pains/reflux

✨ As the baby was poor feeding , someone had advised upping the teeth size, but meant the baby had the bottle taken in 5mins. I could see her struggling to manage the bottle , gasping and letting more air in. Mammy said she is going to go back to the fist teeth size,.as she realised things had worse since she upped the teeth side.

✨I could see baby had an obvious tongue tie,.so mammy will get that checked.

✨I showed mam some baby reflexology she can use daily.

And last but not least , telling mam that her baby will grow out of this , was needed today. And her baby is growing ,so well cared for and this is because of her and her partner ✨

✨How are you?

Anyone else feel that the world is surreal at the moment. That all we thought was real, has shifted. All we see is negative story, after negative story. It's hard not to be consumed with it all.

Whether we realise it or not, this all plays a part in our wellbeing, both physical and mental. Our bodies can't tell the difference between real and perceived threats. Our adrenals, our flight or flight systems ,get activated.

It important you remind your body and mind , that it is safe
How can you do that? As I often tell my clients three breaths regular throughout the day is a great place to start. Slow and intentional. In threw your nose and out your mouth. It lets your body know it is safe.

Reflexology and Reiki are also brilliant stress reduction tools. They give you a moment to breath. Even just the act of prioritising yourself and booking a treatment , is where the healing starts.

✨Sometimes the hardest relationship we’ll ever have is the one with ourselves

I remember growing up in the 80/90s loving yourself was a negative term. A phrase used to tear you down if you were too big for your boots. How sad was that.

Thankfully I think we have moved away from that and self love is more accepted and talked about. Or maybe that's because I'm older and by 40 you care less. If you're younger , are you encouraged to love yourself?

Does that mean you feel good about yourself all of the time, definitely not. I know for myself, my tolerance of myself can depend on my cycle, my tiredness, my regulation, my self care.
But at the core, loving yourself is essential for growth and healing.

Do you love yourself enough to allow yourself peace and growth?

If you're unsure, or maybe said no.

This is a reminder that self-love isn’t about ego, or getting it right all the time, it’s about staying kind when things feel messy.

✨ I invite you to say this daily promise everyday. Words have power and even if you don't fully believe it yet, saying these lovng words to yourself become your outlook,.your mantra, your fabric, your self love 💚

If stress were a character in your life, what would it be? A dramatic friend or a silent intruder?

We all experience stress

The magic isn’t in avoiding it

It’s in how we meet it.

We could all benefit from stepping back and looking at our relationship to it. 

In fact stress is normal and sometimes a beneficial emotions. It helps us get things done. But when it becomes overwhelm, well then we need to listen. Unmanaged stress leads to burnout and illness  

How does your stress present? 

Some of us clench our jaws and push through.

Some of us spiral into “I can’t cope.”

Some of us, shout at the kids a little too much

Some of us snap at our partners or colleagues. 

Some of us (usually after a breakdown in the kitchen) learn to soften instead of fight.

Some of us internalise and we think we are the problem 

So how do we stop everyday stress from turning into full-body burnout?

Everyone knows I scream about the benefits of reiki and reflexology. But what we do everyday matter, the tiny things all adds up. 

✨ 1. Come back to the body first

Stress lives in the nervous system, not just the mind.

Taking three breaths regularly can relax your nervous system and tell it, it's safe. 

Warm baths,walking barefoot, slow stretching.  These all tell your body: ..you are safe now. 

✨ 2. Ask: “What part of me needs care right now?

Not “How do I fix this?”

But “What do I need?”

Rest? Reassurance? Space? A good cry?

That question alone softens everything.

✨ 3 Lower the bar

You don’t need to be productive while processing stress.

Some days, getting through ,is the achievement.

✨ 4 Create tiny rituals of safety

A cup of tea in silence.

Feet on the floor in the morning.

A hand on your heart before sleep.

Little rituals tell your body life is not an emergency.

✨5 Feel instead of fleeing

Stress grows when ignored.

It eases when acknowledged.

Let yourself say:

“This is hard.”

That honesty is healing.

Because maybe the real gift isn’t a new bag or a new pair of shoes

Maybe it’s learning to meet stress and yourself without guilt, without demands, with patience .

✨This is my favourite saying. Those that know me for many many years, will laugh, as it was kind of a mantra for me growing up. It's a good one

But it does mean you have to have faith, faith in yourself, faith that there is more than you, faith in your decisions ,faith that life is a journey, faith that your failures are also a gift.

Faith that your path is some what laid out. How freeing is that!!

Not everything that leaves us is a failure. Sometimes it’s life gently guiding us toward what actually belongs . Some endings aren’t sorrows, they’re protection, shaping us for what we’re meant to grow into

One of the lessons I've learned along the way is to step back. I'm an emphatic person, so my go to , has been , feeling the need to fix. To offer solutions, to offer perceptive, to see both sides, to help ease.

But most people don't want a solution and do you know what, they will ask for that, if they need it.

Most of the time, people just want to be seen and heard. The space between being heard and processing allows them to be their own hero.

So I invite you to.allow the space, allow the uncomfortable, allow for listening to be the only verb.

It's late and I should be in bed. But these words are calling me to write them.✨ So I will 💚

Comparison is the thief of enjoyment.

Don't believe the posts, the reels, the picture or the bravado that is sold to you on the internet.

One step in front of the other is enough.

You are enough.

Safety and regulations are the goal.

Your pace is exactly what you need, not someone elses.

Feelings are signals, not problems.

You are allowed to pick ease

Oh and growth doesn't always make noise or take your breath away. Make sure to gently step back for a moment and clap for yourself
