I attended my first yoga class over ten years ago and after it I knew I had discovered something special. Over the years I’ve tried many different styles of yoga including Hatha, Iyengar, Astanga, Vinyasa Flow, Bikram and Hot Yoga. I now specialise in and teach Hatha Yoga. In 2011 I decided to undertake Yoga Teacher Training with Samadhi yoga studios in Temple Bar, Dublin. I wanted to deepen my practice and knowledge of yoga and to gain a qualification that would allow me to teach others. The training was one of the most challenging and best experiences of my life, and it gave me all I wanted and much much more! Throughout the training I deepened my yoga knowledge including asanas (postures), pranayama (breath work) and mediation. I also developed my understanding and knowledge of philosophy, anatomy and physiology. For me yoga is a practice that challenges the mind, body and soul. Depending on how I’m feeling or what’s going on in my life every time I step onto my mat I experience something different. Over the years my practice, body and experience have changed. My strength and flexibility have greatly improved. My mind is calmer and I am much more aware of my body. Despite practicing for quite a while I’m still learning...and I love that I am. Yoga brings many benefits including:
• Relaxation
• De-stressing
• Calmer mind
• Improved balance and co-ordination
• Greater body awareness
• Strength
• Flexibility
• Improved muscle tone
Yoga is a journey. It is a lifestyle choice and it offers each individual something different. I hope through my teaching that you too discover the joy of yoga!
