About UCD Medicine
The UCD School of Medicine has an extensive portfolio of research, education and training programmes with over 165 years as Ireland’s leading medical school. The School offers more than 60 educational programmes at undergraduate, graduate and continuous professional development level delivered by research-active academic staff within a modern health science centre and by experienced clinicians across a large clinical training network.
We are more than just a Medical School. We are a community of researchers, scientists, clinicians, students and graduates committed in our dedication to society and determined in our mission to improve the lives and health of our patients.
The School trains doctors, radiographers, advanced paramedics and scientists through our undergraduate degree programmes in Medicine (undergraduate entry and graduate entry), Physiology, Radiography and Biomedical, Health & Life Sciences. There are currently over 1,500 students within our five undergraduate programmes, of which 28% are international students drawn from 55 countries around the world. The School also offers forty graduate taught programmes ranging from certificate to masters degree awards and a further twelve graduate research programmes at masters or doctoral level with a combined total of over 500 graduate students.
Our portfolio of biomedical, clinical and translational research has over 75 principal investigators, 60 post-doctoral scientists and 150 doctoral students with grants under management worth approximately €85 million and annual research income of approximately €16M per annum.
