Did anyone see the pics of Harcourt Street last night ?
The return of “normal life”
And the return of our beautiful, elegant, stylish heels!
The usual Sunday afternoon, I checked my emails to prepare for the week ahead in clinic.
I had 4 emails from different ladies looking for emergency appointments tomorrow!
All with the same sentence…
“I wore my heels for the first time in 2 years last night and ……”
* I twisted my ankle..
* I have damaged my nail and it keeps bleeding..
* I think I tore my calf muscle..
* Do I need an X-ray of my foot ?..
I love a pair of heels as much as the next girl, I’m only 5ft I need them!
But we only get one pair of feet and they cannot be replaced.
If your feet are sore from a weekend of celebrations, treat yourself to a relaxing foot care routine tonight.
1. A small basin of warm water and salt (you can add in some Bath lotion if you don’t have any cuts or blisters).
2. Soak your feet for 10 mins. Dry your feet thoroughly with a towel, make sure to dry properly between your toes
3. If you have any cuts or blisters (do not burst the blisters) rub on some sudocreme or antiseptic lotion. Make sure it is rubbed in properly and not left sitting on top of the skin.
4. Use a urea based moisturiser, I am loving foot cream with urea and salicylic acid, make sure you rub this on the heels and soles of your feet. Do not use between your toes.
5. Follow this with Modern Rose cuticle oil, on your toes and nails. This oil is different to other brands as it has a combination of jojoba oil and vitamin E which helps the skin to heal.
6. Put on a fresh pair of cosy sock.
7. Drink lots of water to rehydrate the leg muscles from all the dancing and standing on your tip toes.
Magnesium is a brilliant supplement to aid recovery and relax the muscles. have an epic range of magnesium supplements and they will know a lot more about which style will suit you best.
8. Before going to bed, hold a calf stretch on each leg for 20 seconds and repeat this 3 times.
Wake up refreshed and have a wonderful week.
