From Stones of Shame to Shores of Support
On Friday the 19th of September we took our stigma stones to Drumanagh (Martello Tower) cliffs between Loughshinny and Rush. We threw the negative stones off the cliff into the sea. It was quite symbolic for some, who felt they were letting go of their own stigma’s. After this we discussed our positive stones and placed them along the walking route where people might get comfort from them.
Finally, we had our message of hope in a bottle. Gary & Emma, did a beautiful engraving of a ribbon and a positive message on the back of it, the engraving was filled with resin. Unfortunately, no one got a picture of the bottle, so you’ll have to take a word for it . Gary bravely went onto to one of the rocks to do the honor of throwing the bottle into the sea. We hope it ends up some place nice for someone to find.
This was real collective effort from everyone who took part. A hot drink and food were calling, so we headed to Bare Acre for Lunch and chats.

On Friday the 19th of September we will head to the cliff area known as Drumanagh (Martello Tower) between Loughshinny and Rush. We will throw the negative stones off the cliff into the sea. Sending the powerful message of . After this we will choose a suitable location where we will stack the positive stone to provide a sense of comfort to those who may be struggling with their mental health.
We will than head to a local café for treats and chats.

What a fantastic day EVE Plantmarket had supporting two of our trainees who ‘Jumped for a Dog’. Abseiling in Croke Park raising vital funds and awareness for My Canine Companion - Autism and Therapy Services. We are so proud of the two ladies Emma and Claudia, a lot of work went into their fundraising campaign and it took a huge amount of courage to take on the Abseil Jump. Well done ladies, glad it was not me 😄

I prepared some Tables and Benches with sand paper and dusted them down preparing them for oiling with a paint brush. I started with the Picnic- bench and oiled it all over top & bottom with two coats as it is out-side in the weather. There was all so five Benches and two Tables all protected against the weather for some years come. It was an enjoyable experience.

On Friday 30th of May a group from EVE Plantmarket descended upon Bord Bia Bloom. As ever it didn’t disappoint. We first headed to the show Gardens. There was a huge array of talent and creativity on display. Tusla and Make-A-Wish Ireland were conveying powerful messages with their story telling throughout their gardens. Others pointed to topical themes such biodiversity and Grow Your Own. As ever there huge was great interest in the RTE SuperGarden winner.
For most of us our next stop was the Sustainable living stage where Mick Kelly from Grow It Yourself gave a fantastic talk on Growing for the Future.
Everybody was in great spirits soaking up the atmosphere and with plenty of live music available interesting stalls and talks.
Some than went to the Plant Pavilion/market whilst others went to the food village and sampled many of the free offering that were available.
Some were frugal and didn’t spend any money throughout the day whilst others had empty pockets from purchasing plants, crafts, food and much more. Either way everyone seemed to have a great day. With some already looking forward to next year.
