**Hospital Extremely Busy - Help us prioritise those in urgent need**

The hospital is extremely busy, and we are experiencing a high number of patients attending our Emergency Department who need to be admitted for hospital treatment.

To help us prioritise those in urgent need, we ask patients with non-emergency conditions to consider alternative care options, including injury clinics, your GP or your local pharmacy.

We regret any delays that patients may experience while waiting to be seen, however, all patients are triaged on arrival and are seen according to medical urgency.

If you or someone you care for has a serious or life-threatening condition, please call 999/112 or attend the Emergency Department immediately.

🚀 Big News for Patient Care!

Our Histopathology Department has recently introduced the Automated Section Preparation System (Axlab AS-410M), a game-changer for diagnostics. 🧫

✅ Revolutionising workflow: automates one of the most labour-intensive histology (patient tissue) sample preparation processes.

✅ Improved turnaround times: enables quicker results for Consultant Pathologists, ensuring more timely treatment decisions for patients.

✅ Enhanced quality: allows Medical Scientists to focus on advanced diagnostic techniques, improving precision and care.
✅ Meeting growing demands: supports increasing workloads and current hospital expansion initiatives while maintaining excellence in patient care.

A huge thank you to St. James's Hospital Foundation and its donors for making this possible. Together, we’re shaping the future of healthcare. 💙
