Yesterday Minsiter for Health, Jennifer Carroll MacNeill TD officially opened our third Cardiac Catheterisation Laboratory 🏥

This major expansion boosts our cardiac care capacity by 50%, allowing us to treat 400+ patients each month for heart attacks and rhythm disorders. With a 35% increase in procedures and reduced waiting times, we’re delivering faster, safer, and more advanced care than ever before👏

Huge thanks to our dedicated teams and new specialist staff making this possible, including our first embedded anaesthetic team for complex procedures 💙

This week we celebrated over 40 years of specialist burns care at St James’s Hospital 👏👏

Yesterday marked National Burns Awareness Day and burns survivors Zoe Holohan and Sammy Esghyer shared their powerful stories of recovery, highlighting the national Burns Unit’s patient dedication and the life-changing care that has come over the last four decades. 4⃣ 0⃣

Looking ahead, the unit is expanding its reach with plans for an all-island care model, a Skin Failure Unit, enhanced rehabilitation spaces, and disaster response capabilities, reinforcing its role as a national leader in burns care 🏥
