Thank you everyone for your interest in my Living Dublin 1916 event for RTE. Maybe you will like my latest project of Glendalough Jewellery where I've used illustrations from the 12th Century Manuscript, Book of Glendalough to design a range of celtic jewellery. We have a stand at Showcase Ireland from 27th February to 2nd March in the RDS if you want to come along and see it in person.

Oisín Costello, former member of the Palestrina Choir, as his grandad was before him(as a 10 year old boy soprano!) at this pivotal time in Irelands history. This was an RTE sponsored event and focussed exclusively on the musical environment or soundscape as they are calling it these days, in which Dublin people lived. Monto is a song beloved of generations of Dubliners, most notably performed by Luke Kelly of The Dubliners.

Everyday Dublin Irish Music Tradition in 1915

Irish airs for violin and piano by RTE Concert Orchestra violinist, Sarah Sew, selected from the Abbey Theatre's Programme, February, 1915 Plainchant and polyphony sung by past members of the Palestrina choir with Cantando Chamber Choir. 1915 Feis Ceoil test pieces sung by this year’s boy solo Feis winner. Percy French songs and traditional Irish tunes.

Featuring Sarah Sew, RTE Concert Orchestra, Principal Violinist, Stuart O'Sullivan, Concert Pianist performing music by John Larchet, Music Director at the Abbey Theatre in 1915, choral ensemble including former members of the Palestrina Choir performing plainchant, Cantando choir perform Renaissance polyphony, both part of the day to day repertoire in Cathedral choirs in 1915, test peices taken from the 1915 Feis Ceoil with this years boy solo competition winner playing the competition pieces of 1915, traditional Irish Music and songs of Percy French. Violin and Piano Solos will also feature in the evening in keeping with the Rotunda Round Rooms classical music heritage.

Wicklow in Song, Wicklow Gaol, 25th July.

We are glad to announce the participation in this year's Wicklow in Song event of Australian Actor Sam Atwell and Irish Actress Alison McGirr, both from Australia's longstanding Soap Opera, Home and Away.

Also taking part will be Dave Duffy from our very own Fair City, Eoin Dillon, Uileann Piper with renowned traditional Irish Group, Kila, with Irish songs performed by Wicklow Womens Choral Group, Atmosphere.

The evening will kick off with Gregorian Chant performed by members of The Palestrina Choir.
If you would like to experience an authentic night of music and drama bringing to life 18th and 19th Century Victorian Wicklow life please book early as seating is limited.
