Hay Fever is a common allergic condition that affects up to one in five people at some point in their life. There's currently no cure for hay fever, but most people are able to relieve symptoms with treatment, at least to a certain extent. Symptoms of hay fever are similar to those of common colds and include:
▪️ Dry or runny nose, Itchy and watering eyes, sneezing.
The best way to treat an allergy is to identify the allergic trigger and to avoid it!
Treatment options for Hay fever include:
🔸Antihistamines tablets, Nasal sprays & Eye drops- which help prevent an allergic reaction from occurring or reducing the severity once symptoms have commenced.
🔸Decongestant tablets & Nasal sprays- relieve symptoms of congestion, but are only suitable for short term use.
🔸Anti inflammatory Nasal sprays & Eye drops- which are used to prevent nose and eye symptoms developing.
🔸Sinus Rinses- are proven to be very useful in helping to relieve symptoms of Hay fever and are safe to to be used on any age group from the very young, those pregnant or breast feeding to the elderly.

Helpful hints to reduce Hay fever symptoms
✔️Antihistamines are highly effective at reducing the symptoms of hay fever.
✔️Decongestants can help in the early days to relieve nasal congestion.
✔️Avoid large areas with lots of grass.
✔️Rub petroleum jelly underneath your nose.
✔️Wear glasses or a hat to stop pollen settling.
✔️Wash your hands, face and hair after you have been outdoors.
✔️Check weather. Morning & night pollen count is at its highest, try to avoid going outside at these times
✔️Dry clothes indoors to avoid pollen sticking to them.
✔️Keep windows closed at night and while driving.
