We pushed on our silage season at the start of May with a knowledge transfer day for a regional group of staff at Gurteen College, Co. Tipperary.

The workshop and practical training were delivered by our National Product Manager, John Molloy. John spoke about the importance of inspecting fields for nitrates and sugar levels before cutting, the key points involved in making good-quality silage, and the scientific benefits of using HMI silage additive.

We were also joined by a guest speaker, Maurice Keady from Silawrap. Maurice spoke about the benefits of Silawrap for bales and what to look for in quality plastic. Thanks Maurice for your time and information on the day.

Finally we would also like to thank Gurteen College for giving us a tour of the college and talking about their dairy, beef and sheep enterprises.

We were proud sponsors for the inaugural Agri -Lloyd Silage Competition with the Waterford/Tipperary Friesian Breeders.

We had a great night where our National Product Manager, John Molloy presented the data from the groups 2025 silage results which were all analysed by our FAA accredited laboratories in the UK.

John compared the dietary analysis over the national results with a few take home messages for the group. A good discussion was had about the benefits of using our HMI silage additive to make quality silage this season.

This was followed by announcing the silage competition winners which were presented by Agri-Lloyd DSM Richard O'Hara
