Whether you're going on holiday, feeling unwell, or life simply gets busy — sometimes things get in the way.

All of my class terms include a flexi week. For example, if the term is 6 weeks long, you only pay for 5 classes. This gives you a little flexibility if you can’t attend your class one week.

But did you know that if you can't make your usual class you’re also welcome to join another class that week instead, so you don’t have to miss out on your bit of “me time” that week?

Let me know if you ever need to switch :)

Please note: the Gentle Yoga Flow class is currently fully booked, so flexi swaps into that class are not available,

New Morning Pilates Class – Introductory Offer

Hi everyone, I’ve been teaching yoga and Pilates in Lucan since 2019 and have just launched a new morning Pilates class at Ballyowen Castle Community Centre.

The class focuses on building strength and improving mobility, all in a relaxed and welcoming environment.

As the class has only been running for two weeks, it’s a great time to join. It’s very beginner friendly, but those with Pilates experience are also very welcome as each exercise is tailored to suit each individual.

The usual cost is €12 per class when booked by term or €16 drop-in, but for the next two weeks I am offering a reduced drop-in rate of €12 if you’d like to come along and see if the class is a good fit for you.

If you’d like more information or would like to come along, comment 'info' below or send me a DM.

Bridge Variations

Bridge is one of my favourite exercises in Pilates. It is great for beginners but there are also lots of different ways to layer in extra challenges.

1. Regular bridge
2 Knee lifts.
3 Single-leg variations.

I always move into each exercise in stages so that you can stay with option 1 or progress as and when you feel ready.

Its also a bit of an all rounder in relation to its benefits, which include

• Strengthening the glutes which help to stabilise the hips, pelvis and knees
• Activates deep core muscles to help support and protect the back
• Opens and extends the front of the hips, something many of us lose from prolonged sitting, which helps to counteract tight hip flexors and reduce strain on the lower back
• Encourages slow, controlled movement of the spine helping it move more freely and with control.

So this is the year that I turn the big 5-0. Over time, my priorities around exercise have shifted and I have become increasing aware of the need to build and maintaining strength so I can stay mobile, active, and live the life I want to live.

From our mid-30s onwards, we naturally lose muscle. Add long workdays, raising children, and years of putting ourselves last, and it’s no surprise many of us feel achier, stiffer and less mobile than we used to.

Mobility is so important, and strength is what supports it. When muscles are stronger, they support the joints better. That takes pressure off knees, hips and shoulders. A stronger core also supports the spine, which can help to reduce back discomfort. Movement and every day tasks feel easier.

For me, Pilates and it's slow, controlled and progressive exercises is the perfect way to build that strength.

If you would like to join me for my new term of Pilates starting this week and next, let me know :)

Pilates helps you build deep core strength, improve posture and move with more ease — so you feel stronger and more balanced in everyday life.

My aim is always to create classes that feel welcoming, inclusive and manageable alongside busy lives

All of my Pilates Mat classes are mixed level, each exercise can be layered and adapted, so you can begin exactly where you are, allowing you to work at the level that suits you — and to keep progressing in the same class as you get stronger.

The benefits of mixed level classes:

✨ Clear technique cues and strong foundations
✨ Layered options so you can make movements gentler or more challenging
✨ Space to grow without needing to change classes
✨ Freedom to move at your own pace
✨ A relaxed, friendly atmosphere where everybody feels comfortable

Whether you’re coming back after a break or building on your practice, you’ll be supported to move in a way that feels right for your body.

My new term of Pilates classes starts this week. Get in touch for further training for or booking:)

⭐NEW CLASS ALERT - MONDAY MORNING GENTLE YOGA FLOW ⭐

My Friday morning Gentle Yoga Flow is possibly the most popular class on the schedule - the class has been consistently full for the past couple of years and is fully booked again this term.

So I’m delighted to announce that Gentle Yoga Flow will now also run on Monday mornings at 9:30am in the Ballyowen Centre.

This class is designed to help you de-stress, release tension and leave you feeling revitalised. We gently build strength, flexibility and mobility as we move through a flowing sequence of standing, kneeling and seated poses at a more manageable and inclusive pace than a traditional flow class.

Suitable for beginners and for anyone looking for a gentle yet energising start to the week.

Spaces are limited and booking is essential. If you have any questions about the classes or you would like to book in, let me know. :)

A little bit about me

Hi, my name is Nina and I am a qualified hatha yoga teacher. I am also qualified to teach pregnancy and mum and baby yoga.

I started practicing yoga in 2003. Initially I fell in love with yoga for the strength and flexibility that yoga brings. My reason for starting was therefore fitness. I dipped in and out of yoga for a number of years, however it was in 2010 after a trip to the physio with pain in my hip flexors that I went back to yoga, realizing that my stiff, tight hips would benefit from doing yoga. I found a teacher whose style I loved and was hooked. Over the years my reasons for doing yoga have evolved, it has supported me through pregnancy and helps to keeps me sane with two small children in tow. Whilst I still love the physical side of the practice, it is the total feel good factor that yoga has on my mind and my body that keeps me practicing, the ability that yoga has to improve my mood, make me happy and feel a little more relaxed.

I truly believe that yoga should be for all, keeping our bodies moving and our minds calm is vital to our long term health and happiness and for me yoga is the perfect way to achieve both.

I run weekly classes in Lucan. Keep an eye on my page for the latest class times.
