THANK YOU FOR CELEBRATING WORLD PHYSIOTHERAPY DAY WITH US!

A huge thank you to everyone who joined us in celebrating World Physiotherapy Day! This year's theme, "Healthy Ageing," reminded us of the importance of staying active, maintaining relationships, and continuing to do the things we value as we grow older.

We marked the day with a range of fun and educational activities:

💃 Dance Class in the CRU Gym
Service users from CRU and RMDU took part in a lively and interactive dance session. There were lots of laughs, plenty of great moves, and some fantastic information sharing on how movement supports healthy ageing.
📚 Information Stand & Quiz in the Canteen
We kept the energy high with engaging activities and a quiz that sparked both laughter and some healthy competition for top prizes!

Thanks again to everyone who participated and helped make the day such a success. Let’s keep moving, keep connecting, and keep ageing healthily together!

A heartfelt thank you to the members of Grange Golf Club who recently hosted a special golf event in memory of the legendary Gaelic games commentator, Mícheál Ó Muircheartaigh.

This thoughtful tribute honoured the life and legacy of a true icon of Irish sport — a man whose unforgettable voice and deep passion for Gaelic games left a lasting impact on generations of fans.

Go raibh míle maith agat for celebrating his memory in such a meaningful way. ⛳

🌟 Hospice Hero Community Fundraising Award – Blackrock Hospice 🌟

This year, we’re proud to honour The Baker Family – David, Colin, Wesley & Davina – with the Hospice Hero Community Fundraising Award in loving memory of Monica Baker R.I.P., who was cared for by the team at Blackrock Hospice in 2023.

🎶 Inspired by Monica’s love of music and her generous spirit, her family and amazing group of friends created the incredible “Songs of Remembrance” concert at the National Concert Hall – a sold-out tribute to life, love, and community.

💛 Their journey didn’t stop there – from a fundraiser at their family business Decwell’s (celebrating 40 years in Dublin City Centre!) to Colin’s “Wings Around Ireland” flight, landing in almost every coastal county – their dedication has been nothing short of inspiring.

To date, they’ve raised over €32,000 for Blackrock Hospice. In Monica’s memory, they’ve made a lasting difference. 💫

🌟A huge congratulations to Bridget Murphy from Rathgar, who was recently honoured with a Together for Hospice Hero Award for her 22 years of fundraising for Our Lady’s Hospice & Care Services, Harold’s Cross. 🌟

Bridget will host her 22nd Bewley’s Big Coffee Morning for Hospice this September at her home in Rathgar – a beautiful tradition started by her mother Mary Naughton, who still volunteers with the Hospice today. ☕

Even during Covid, Bridget didn’t stop – moving the event outdoors under a gazebo with a borrowed coffee machine. Her passion for hospice care became even more personal when her future son-in-law’s father, Ian Hazley, received palliative care at Harold’s Cross two years ago. “We realised the absolute Godsends that people are in there, it’s such a beautiful place.” – Bridget

Join Bridget and thousands across Ireland by hosting or attending a Coffee Morning for Hospice this September!
