Sustaining Life's Symphony: Nurturing Quality of Life and Participation through Assistive Technology and Specialised Seating in Neurodegenerative Journeys

Cathy Doherty is a dedicated and solution-focused Senior Occupational Therapist with 13 years of experience in the Assistive Technology and Specialised Seating (ATSS) Department at CRC Clontarf.

Currently contributing as a key member of a multidisciplinary team at the Central Remedial Clinic Clontarf, Cathy focuses on enhancing the lives of children and adults with physical and intellectual disabilities through specialised seating and assistive technology interventions.
In her role, Cathy conducts comprehensive assessments and provides ongoing reviews for a diverse clientele, including those with cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, spinal cora injuries, acquired brain injuries, and motor neuron disease.

With a keen interest in power mobility skills, alternative controls for power mobility, and the synergies between seating and assistive technology, Cathy is continuously seeking opportunities to further her skills in these areas and apply them to her everyday practise.
