Ree Design turns 30 today! What started as a leap of faith all those years ago began when I was due to return to the Irish Pub Company after just 14 weeks of maternity leave (yes, only 14!), but instead I decided to go it alone.
Over the past three decades, we’ve been lucky to work on some truly memorable projects, including:
• Beyond the Hall Door TV programme
• Irish Times Designer’s Forum
• Beyond the Hall Door at the RDS
• Arch Club, Portmarnock
• Malahide Golf Club
• Myos Pub, Castleknock
We also loved collaborating with a wide range of building contractors, most notably John Paul Construction, on everything from show houses and offices to private homes… and even a church and a cruiser!
Over the past couple of years, we’ve gently wound things down due to personal commitments. In the last year especially, we’ve traded the mud of building sites for the mud of the golf course and are thoroughly enjoying the quieter pace. That said, if the right opportunity comes along, we might yet find ourselves back to 60-hour weeks, but for now, we’re embracing the calm.
