🌟 Tus Nua Ladies Return to Ard Scoil na nDéise – Building Community Together! 🌟

We are delighted to share that the Tus Nua ladies have returned to the Ard Scoil in Dungarvan for the 2025 school year!

They are meeting with the Transition Year students, and the experience has been incredibly positive so far. Both our ladies and the TY students are really enjoying their time together, learning from one another and building wonderful connections.

A huge thank you to Ms. Hehir and all the staff at Ard Scoil na nDéise for welcoming our group back and for creating such a supportive and inclusive environment. Opportunities like this truly strengthen community inclusion and make a meaningful difference.

At Carriglea Cáirde Services, we provide a comprehensive range of day, residential and respite services to approximately one hundred and ninety adults with mild, through to profound, degrees of intellectual disability.

We are currently recruiting for the following position.

Social Care Leader or Clinical Nurse Manger 1

Applications are invited from suitably qualified and experienced persons for the above position in our community homes.

Applicants must lead by example in demonstrating genuine kindness, empathy and patience in their daily interaction with service users in a person-centered service. The successful candidate will fulfill the:

• Person in Charge requirements and responsibilities for designated centres in line with HIQA regulations.
• Provide leadership and support to staff in the home in ensuring safe services and supportive services.
• Plan and supervise the implementation and review of a quality, person centered service with the residents.


An applicable Social Care qualification and CORU registration or Nursing qualification is required for the role. Nurses must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland.
Candidates must have the capacity to properly discharge the functions of this role.

Candidates should have minimum three years relevant experience.
Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities is desirable. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required. A full clean driving license is essential.

Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer

Carriglea Cáirde Services provides a comprehensive range of day, residential, and respite services to approximately 200 adults with mild to profound intellectual disabilities and autism. Carriglea Cáirde Services is committed to supporting individuals reach their full potential, promoting growth, independence, and choice.

Carriglea Cáirde Services is seeking an experienced Senior Services Manager to join the Services leadership team. This is an opportunity for an individual with strong clinical leadership skills to contribute to the ongoing development and delivery of high-quality services in line with regulatory standards and best practice.

Duties and Responsibilities:
• Lead out on a culture of autonomy, choice and fostering an environment that encourages personal growth, self-development and valued friendships amongst individuals who utilize our Services.
• Provide clinical governance and leadership for designated service areas of responsibility ensuring services are aligned with Health Act 2007, HIQA Regulations, New Directions & Health & Safety.
• Manage and support the continuous compliance of designated centres and day services with all legislative and regulatory requirements.
• Lead and support Persons in Charge and Day Service Managers in the planning, development and enhancements of current and future Services.
• Communicating with all elements of multi-disciplinary teams to ensure optimum delivery of services.
• Management of staffing levels, skill mix, and budget constraints, ensuring the efficient use of resources.
• Ensure adherence to the Services policies and procedures, and through the line management process ensuring that managers meet all functional requirements across Finance, HR and ICT.
• Promote transparency and evidence-based decision-making, involving service users, families, advocates, and staff in the process.
• Actively contribute to decision-making and oversight in various Service committees, including the Senior Management Team, Quality Committee, Admissions & Discharge Committee, Clinical Committees, and HSE Service Level Arrangement Review Team.

Applicants should:
• Be an excellent role model for high standards and support for individuals who use our Service.
• Demonstrate excellent clinical leadership, management flexibility and hold a nursing or social care qualification and be registered with the NMBI/CORU. Minimum of five years’ experience at management level, preferably in an intellectual disability environment.
• Experience of managing staff teams is essential.
• Have significant experience of working with service users, families and multi-disciplinary teams.
• Have proven organisational, teambuilding skills and excellent flexibility.
• Will be required to undergo designated liaison persons training.

Thanks to Dungarvan Golf Club for kindly hosting a 45 Card Drive in support of our athletes heading to the Special Olympics Summer Games 2026.

We’re also deeply grateful to everyone who plans to take part or support the event in any way. Your generosity helps our local athletes continue their training and strive toward their goals — and training is going really well!

At Carriglea Cairde Services, we provide a comprehensive range of day, residential and respite services to approximately two hundred individuals who utilise our Services.

Our goal is to develop skills and opportunities, to forge lasting friendships and to promote independence through meaningful and active lives.

We are currently looking to recruit for the following permanent posts:

General Operator Maintenance
The successful applicant will be required to support the daily maintenance requirements within the Services and will be expected to perform routine maintenance and repairs on buildings, equipment and grounds across residential day and respite services.

This will include carpentry tasks, painting, the maintenance of water systems and drains, moving furniture and supporting any emergency repairs as required.

Applicants must hold a Safe Pass as a minimum, have a good knowledge and experience of general maintenance and repairs and the ability to demonstrate excellent health and safety standards.

Candidates must have excellent time management skills, be proficient in maintenance recording and a full clean driving licence is essential to this role.

Programme Assistants
Day Services
Monday to Friday hours.

Applicants must demonstrate genuine kindness, empathy and patience in their daily interaction with service users in a person-centered service. The successful candidates will provide support to adults with an intellectual disability to develop their independent living skills.

Programme development will include daily living skills, personal development and occupational and leisure activities, within the context of a quality of life model and person-centered planning.
This will involve working with the service users, their families and other staff in developing a person-centered plan for each individual. Applicants will be required to support individuals who use our service with all elements of their support, including personal care. There will be a strong emphasis on developing daily living skills that is individually based with a goal towards independence.

Applicants should hold a relevant qualification, minimum FETAC Level 5. Experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities is desirable. Excellent communication and organisational skills are required.

Candidates should have a full clean, driving license.

Care Assistants
Flexible Full and Part Time posts

The successful candidates will provide support and follow relevant programs for adults with an intellectual disability. This will involve working with the service users, their families and other staff in developing and following a person-centred plan for each individual.

Applicants must demonstrate genuine kindness, empathy and patience in the daily interaction with service users in a person centered service. Successful candidates will be required to support service users in a socially inclusive model.

Applicants will be required to support individuals who use our service with all elements of their support, including personal care. Applicants will be required to undertake domestic and cleaning duties. Applicants should hold a relevant minimum FETAC/QQI Level 5 Major Award qualification, and experience of working with people with intellectual disabilities is desirable. Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.

These posts are across residential services and include night shift vacancies.

Candidates should have a full clean, driving license.

The successful candidate will:

• Ensure staff rosters are completed and communicated to staff.
• Have responsibility for assessing resources to meet service user requirements.
• Liaise with parents and family in delivering person centered plans.
• Have accountability for meeting performance appraisals, induction and probation for their staff teams.
• Ensure all staff are aware of their functions in meeting compliance standards.
• Maintain compliance with all HIQA and other relevant legislation.
• Follow all safeguarding and risk assessment process and policies are adhered to. • Have excellent communication skills and facilitate monthly team meetings.

Requirements: • Minimum three years experience in an intellectual disability environment. • Level 7 qualification in Social Care. • Comprehensive knowledge of HIQA standards and safeguarding legislation. • Excellent communication skills. • Proficient ICT skills. • Full clean driving licence.
