MUSIC INSTRUMENTS & ART MATERIALS APPEAL for music and art therapy with Ukrainian Refugees in Poland.

Everyone knows that in every Irish home there is a musical instrument that isn't used as much as it could be.
Friend of mine Kris Stachyra asked if we coukd help. He is a music therapist with a big heart. He is based in Lublin, beautiful city in Eastern Poland, close to Ukrainian border.
Kris and his friends provide therapeutic support to Ukrainian refugees. They do music therapy, music workshops at the local community centre. They have over 60 refugees attending every day. They also deliver colouring books, art materials to the crowded hostels and other places where Ukrainian refugees stay. Kris says they have enough instruments for small kids but they urgently need music instruments for adolescents and adults such as big drums, djembe drums, keyboards, string intruments etc.
If you have any instruments that are unused, gathering dust and wish to lets someone else play them again please contact me ASAP.

I can collect them and organise transport to Kris, to Poland.

Your donation of any new art materials and colouring books that could be used in art therapy with Ukrainian children would be very welcome as well.

Therapist’s Introduction

My name is Gosia Lawnicki and I am registered accredited member of the Irish Association of Creative Arts Therapists as well as pre-accredited member of the Irish Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy. I hold a Master’s Degree in art therapy from CIT Crawford College of Art & Design in Cork, Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from PCI College and have been working in private practice since 2011.

I bring a multi-disciplinary approach to therapy and development based on my background as an artist, arts educator, coach, mindfulness practitioner and counsellor. In my work I utilize variety of creative modalities such as visual arts, play, creative writing, music, movement, guided visualization, relaxation, meditation and mindfulness techniques.

I have a special interest in work with children and adolescents covering a range of presenting concerns, including low self-esteem, depression, anxiety, trauma, attachment difficulties and developmental issues. As bilingual (Polish and English speaking) counsellor I also works with adults, particularly Polish immigrants

I began my career in marketing communication in Poland and later moved into the area of business coaching. After coming to Ireland I established my artist's and arts facilitator's career, and delivered many creativity based workshops for various community groups, organizations and institutions such as preschools, schools, hospitals, nursing homes. Since then I have been engaged in extensive research of the link between creativity and mental health.
