Today, 4 October 2024, is World Animal Day, please share and remember all the animals in rescue that need a loving home.

There are currently nearly 3,000 dogs in rescues in pounds in Ireland 😔 that are looking for their new families.

Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Council have confirmed that all dogs within the Restricted Breed category ( Shepherds, Staffies, American Pitbulls etc ) that enter the Dublin County Dog Shelter within their jurisdiction will be euthanised / killed within 5 days.

These dogs will not be eligible for rehoming or allowed to go to a Rescue Organisation.
WE DEMAND TO KNOW WHO HAS STOOD BY THIS AND HOW CAN THEY GET AWAY WITH THIS STATEMENT 🤬🤬🤬🤬

This email was sent from Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Council to a Dublin Rescue. 🤬

The staff on the ground of the Dublin County Pound (Shelter) work tirelessly to care for and rehome the dogs in their care are horrified and so upset.
This new policy is being imposed only by Dun Laoghaire/Rathdown Council.

Councillor Maurice Dockrell being a huge advocate for animals surely you cannot stand by such a statement 🤬
