A huge thank you to our incredible First Responders who gave up their time to prepare and take part in the parade.

We’d also like to extend our thanks to Cherrytots Playschool for their generous donation of lollipops, which brought plenty of smiles along the route!

Days like today show the true spirit of our community and we again would like to thank you all for your continued kindness and support.

Remember, it takes a community to save a life. ❤️

4 years of volunteering in the community, offering support during some of the toughest days for many.

Our AGM will take place on Wednesday evening, 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟏𝐭𝐡 𝐂𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝐖𝐚𝐥𝐤, 𝐑𝟒𝟓 𝐕𝐘𝟕𝟕 @𝟕.𝟑𝟎𝐩𝐦 sharp.

Edenderry has been setup as a HUB, with the group assisting 999/112 calls via the National Ambulance Service across, Edenderry, CastleJordan/Ballinabrackey, Rhode/Crogan, Daingean, Ballinagar/Ballycommon, Bracknagh/Clonbullogue.

If you would be interested in coming along please feel free to do so. You can get info on joining our group, across all the areas, or just to keep up to date with what we are doing within the community.

What a fantastic experience some of our CFR responders had last week when they got to visit the NAS Control Room in Tallaght, where all the 999 and 112 call are answered, they got to see 1st hand how all the calls are dealt with and how we as responders get dispatched to the calls in our community. Well done to Mark Irene Michael Vicki and Niamh.

Happy New Year 🎉 to our wonderful community. We wish you health and happiness in abundance for 2026, from everyone here at Edenderry Community First Responders.

Your support throughout 2025 has been truly outstanding. The impact speaks for itself, and we are proud to continue supporting our community. The service we provide is made possible only through the dedication of our volunteers and the ongoing support of our community.

A huge thank you to our incredible team of almost 50 responders and their families — your commitment and support make us what we are.

Our thoughts, as always, are with the families and friends who have been affected by a sudden cardiac arrest at this time.

We are privilged to assist our collegues in the Emergency Services,
National Ambulance Service (NAS), Offaly Fire & Rescue Service, An Garda Síochána Laois/Offaly, Air Corps 112
with the continued support NAS Community Engagement

The chain of survival has further strengthened in our community in 2025 and we will continue to raise awareness and deliver care 24/7 in 2026.

Well done all involved, especially Peadar who responds off duty in our community.

We wish John well on his recovery, he is looking in great shape just 12 days after such an event - goes to show what a quick response can do 🙏👏❤️

We were very happy to see passenger John Mullen return to Dublin Airport this morning, 12 days after he suffered a cardiac arrest in Pier 4.

John was reunited today with Paramedics Ciaran Foster and Peadar Edgar, from our Fire & Rescue team, and Aaron Crampton from Airport Police, who responded to the incident on the day.

Aaron took the call in Airport Police control at 06.30 that morning and initiated a response. Ciaran and Peadar were straight on the scene in Terminal 2 and carried out advanced life support procedures on Mr Mullen including seven defibrillation shocks and managed to get John’s heart beating effectively once again.

After a spell in hospital, John returned to the airport today to travel home to the United States and met with the three men who saved him.

Safe travels, John!

The defibrillator is centrally located on the side of Pure Pharmacy, ensuring it is easy to access at all times when every second truly matters. This life-saving device will be available to the public and first responders alike, strengthening emergency care right here in the heart of Edenderry.

🚨 We are currently dealing with a very high call volume nationwide 🚨

If you're sick, please consider all your care options including the out-of-hours doctor, on call pharmacist or going directly to the Emergency Department.

Calling an ambulance will not get you seen at ED any quicker.

Please only ring 999 or 112 in a real emergency so that we can help those who need us most.

A powerful reminder of why CPR training truly matters. 💚
This young person’s life was saved thanks to fast action and effective CPR — a real example of how early intervention can change everything.
