West Senior Hurling Championship
The 95th Arrabawn Tipperary Co-Op Society Ltd West Senior Hurling Championship Final is fixed for this Saturday July 26th at 7pm in Golden. Clonoulty/Rossmore and Cashel King Cormacs clash in a repeat of the 2023 final. Finish on the day rules will apply.

Clonoulty/Rossmore and Cashel King Cormacs will meet in the final for the tenth time, with the record five to four in favour of Cashel King Cormacs. It will be the third time in five season the sides have contested the final with Clonoulty/Rossmore coming out on top in the 2021 and 2023 deciders at the same venue.
Clonoulty/Rossmore will be aiming for a record twenty fifth title and ninth successive title in a row. Cashel King Cormacs on the other hand will be looking to claim the O’Dwyer Cup for the first time since 1995 and they look to make it title number nineteen.
Clonoulty/Rossmore will be appearing in their thirty-ninth final while Cashel King Cormacs will be featuring in their thirty first final. Clonoulty/Rossmore have won the last eleven West championship meetings between the sides with Cashel King Cormac’s last win coming over their final opponents coming in 1999.

Cup (Willie O’Dwyer Cup):
When the West Tipperary G.A.A. Board was founded in Dundrum in 1930 Willie O'Dwyer, a native of Lisloran, near Knockavilla, was appointed its first chairman. His guiding hand steered the infant division through its first five difficult years of life and the West senior hurling trophy has since perpetuated the memory of one who played a key role in the establishing of the new division. Fr. J.J. Meagher, chairman of the County Board from 1927 to 1947, presented the West Division with a cup to perpetuate his memory. In 1940 Cashel K.C. were the first winners of the new trophy.
Venue:
Golden has hosted the final on twenty-eight previous occasions (including three replays), the last in 2023. It had the honour of hosting the very first final in 1930 where Clonoulty/Rossmore defeated Solohead.
It will be the fourth time the sides have met in the final at Golden with the record standing two each.
Referee:
John McCormack will be the man in the middle. He will take charge of his fourth final having refereed the 2014, 2017 and 2023 deciders. It will be his second time to referee a Clonoulty/Rossmore and Cashel King Cormacs decider.
West Intermediate Hurling Championship
The Tipperary Credit Union West Intermediate Hurling Championship resumes this weekend with two semi-final’s down for decision. Finish on the day rules will also apply.

The first of the semi-final will see Golden/Kilfeacle start the defence of their title as they face Arravale Rovers in Canon Hayes Park Bansha this Friday July 25th at 7.30pm. It is a repeat of last years semi-final which was won by Golden/Kilfeacle at the same venue. Cashel King Cormacs were the last defending champions to reach back-to-back deciders in 2018 losing out to Sean Treacys in the final.
It will be their third semi-final meeting in five seasons with both results going Golden/Kilfeacle way. Arravale Rovers have to go back to 1993 for their last victory over Golden/Kilfeacle in the Intermediate Championship.
Golden/Kilfeacle have won the last eight meetings between the sides and have reached four of the last six deciders. Arravale Rovers reached a first West final in ten years in 2023. Their semi-final victory over Kickhams ending a ten year wait for a victory in the competition going back to their 2013 West Final victory over Sean Treacys.

The second semi-final takes place as a curtain raiser to the Senior Final in Golden this Saturday July 26th. Cappawhite and Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams will meet in a repeat of last years semi-final. Cappawhite advancing to the final just over twelve months ago.
The sides will be meeting for the fifth time in the Intermediate Championship and the third at the semi-final stage. Cappawhite have won the three semi-final meetings while Kickhams overturned Cappawhite in the delayed 2020 final.

West Junior A Hurling Championship
The 2025 Gleeson Concrete West Junior A Hurling Championship resumes this Friday with round 4 of the competition. Both games throw in at 7.30pm.
Pairc Ciocaim, Dundrum hosts the meeting of Cappawhite and Rockwell Rovers. Both remain without a win after three and two games respectively. The winner will take the remaining semi-final spot.
The second game in Annacarty features the two unbeaten sides, Lattin/Cullen and Cashel King Cormacs. Both sides sit on four points after two games and guaranteed a semi-final spot.

West Junior B Hurling Championship
The Arrabawn Tipperary Co-Operative Society West Junior B Hurling Championship resumes this weekend with six games across the two groups.
Group 1
In Group 1 this Friday July 25th, Solohead host Galtee Rovers St. Pecaun at 7.30pm. The home side will be looking for a second win in four while Galtee Rovers are pointless after three games.
The remaining two games are fixed for Sunday at 12 noon.
Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams host Golden/Kilfeacle at Pairc Ciocaim, Dundrum. Kickhams have four points from three games with Golden/Kilfeacle two points behind.
The second game sees a local derby as second place Cashel King Cormacs host first place and unbeaten Rosegreen at Leahy Park Cashel.
Group 2
All three games take place this Sunday at 12 noon.
Fourth and fifth meet in Sean Treacy Park as Arravale Rovers and Sean Treacys go in search of their first points.
Annacarty hosts the top of the table clash as second place Eire Og face first place Emly. Both are on four points with Emly unbeaten and a game less played.
The remaining game sees unbeaten Clonoulty/Rossmore host Lattin/Cullen in Clonoulty. Lattin/Cullen have lost their only game to date while Clonoulty/Rossmore are two from two.

The Maria Marron Palmers Hill Stud West Junior A Football Championship resumed last Friday with two games down for decision.
The bottom of the table clash saw Solohead get their first win defeating Emly 4-9 to 1-14 in Emly. Emly remain pointless after three games and cannot now qualify for the semi-finals.
The two previously unbeaten teams met in Sean Treacy Park, as Arravale Rovers made it two from two inflicting a first defeat on Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams 2-11 to 1-8.

There were a number of games pencilled down for decision in the Cooper Fencing Ltd West U19 B Hurling Championship last week.
In Group 1, on Wednesday, Sean Treacys defeated Knockavilla Donaskeigh Kickhams, 3-18 to 3-13 at Pairc Ciocaim, Dundrum.
On Saturday evening, the rearranged game between Sean Treacys and Eire Og/Emly saw Eire Og/Emly concede.
Sean Treacys are now through to the knockout stages,
In Group 2, on Wednesday last Clonoulty/Rossmore and Golden/Kilfeacle drew 4-15 to 3-18. The result puts Golden/Kilfeacle into the knockout stages. Clonoulty/Rossmore and Lattin/Cullen Gaels will battle for the second spot.
In Group 3, on Wednesday last Cappawhite Gaels conceded to Rockwell/Rosegreen.

Dillon Quirke Foundation
The foundation was set up in honour of the late Dillon Quirke who collapsed and died of SADS on the 5th of August 2022 in Semple Stadium Thurles playing hurling for his club Clonoulty-Rossmore in the County championship.
Sudden adult death syndrome (SADS) takes 100 young lives in Ireland every year. The aim of the foundation is to raise awareness and save lives by screening every GAA player both male and female from the age of 12 upwards.
