Services delivered by Clarecare are based on the philosophy of working in a supportive role with people to assist them with solutions to their problems.

Clarecare offices are based in Ennis, Killaloe, Kilrush, Ennistymon & Shannon. Clarecare provides three core services throughout County Clare - Addiction Treatment, Care of the Older Person (which includes Home Support, Social Clubs and Social Work for Older Person Services) and Family Support Services. Clarecare also operate Thrift Shops at our centres in Ennis and Killaloe with opening hours 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. RCN 20012847

In part 2 of Our Clare Family Support Series we offer advice on 'Talking with Teenagers.'

The teenage years can be challenging — for both parents and teens. The everyday moments of connection really matter and can make the harder times easier to handle. Here are some simple ways to strengthen communication with your teen:

✨ Notice the positives — they still value your approval.
🎶 Show interest in their world — music, sports, hobbies, shows.
🚪 Respect their privacy — even small gestures like knocking count.
💖 Celebrate achievements, forgive mistakes, listen, and say “I love you.”
😂 Share fun and laughter — it’s one of the best connectors.
📵 Try short phone-free times (mealtimes are a great start — for everyone!).
Your teen still needs to know you care, even when you don’t agree. 💙

Another helpful amenity available to our Service Users is a weekly visit from our wonderful hairdresser, Karen ✂️

💖 Every Wednesday, Karen pops in to provide hairdressing for both male and female members of the Over 65’s club – always with a smile and a chat!
