Can I tell you something that nobody really talks about?

Stress doesn't just affect your mood.

During menopause it goes straight for your symptoms.

You already knew stress wasn't good for you. But here's what nobody tells you.

During perimenopause and menopause your body is already under enormous pressure.

💫Your hormones are shifting.
💫Your nervous system is more reactive than it's ever been.
💫Your body's ability to cope with stress is just not the same right now.

And when stress hits on top of that? It's like throwing petrol on a fire.💥

It's not just about your feet.

There are moments during a session, while I'm working your feet, where I'm doing so much more than just applying pressure.

I'm listening.

💫To your breath.
💫To the tension you've never spoken out loud.

To me reflexology goes beyond technique.

It's connection.

Stressed. Anxious. Exhausted. Burnt out. Sound familiar?

During a chat with a client recently, I caught myself saying something that I don't think I say out loud enough.

I told her that I genuinely love working with women who are stressed, anxious, exhausted and burnt out.

Because I've lived it.💜

⚡️I know what it feels like to wake up tired before the day has even started.
⚡️To have your mind racing at 3am with thoughts you can't switch off.
⚡️To smile and keep going while something inside you is quietly falling apart.
⚡️To feel like you should be able to handle it all, and feel ashamed that you can't.

The anxiety. The overwhelm. The constant feeling that you're running on empty but somehow still expected to keep going.

So when a woman comes to me for reflexology and starts to open up. I'm not just listening as a therapist. I'm listening as someone who has been in a version of that same place.🫶

There is something about my treatment room that makes people feel safe enough to exhale. Really exhale. And I don't take that lightly.

And here's what I also know to be true … every single woman's story is her own. What got you here, what you're carrying, what you need , that's unique to you and I'd never assume otherwise.

But there are threads that connect us. And sometimes just knowing that the person working with you genuinely gets it … from lived experience..🫶

That's why I do this work. And that's why it means so much to me when I get to do it.

This is what a year of running on empty looks like.

And what happened when she finally stopped.

My client had been tired for so long she'd forgotten what rested felt like.

❌️ Waking up after a full night's sleep and still feeling drained.
❌️ Headaches that just lived in the background.
❌️ Stress that had become so normal she stopped noticing it.

She'd just accepted this was her life now.🙂‍↕️

When she came to me she wasn't looking for a miracle. She was just desperate enough to try something different.

I need to be honest with you.

This isn't a quick fix. It's the beginning of coming back to yourself.

If you've been running on empty for months (or years), one reflexology session isn't going to undo all of that.🫶

Here's the thing about being stuck in survival mode:

You can't talk yourself out of it.
You can't schedule or self-care your way out of it.✨️

You used to push through and bounce back.

Now? You push through and need three days to recover.

I used to minimise how I felt and tell myself others had it worse.

I’d tell myself there were people out there with real problems. People who were struggling more than me.

So I kept going.

I was still functioning, going to work, and visiting family when I had to.

They were none the wiser … because I didn’t want to burden them with how I was feeling back then.

But inside, I was constantly on edge.
My mind never switched off.
My body stayed tense. I was exhausted in a way no amount of sleep or rest could fix.

I thought coping meant I was okay.💫

But really, I was just surviving.

All these years later, I’m so glad I reached out for support.

It didn’t mean I was weak or a burden.
I realized I was worthy of the same care I gave so freely to those around me and it meant I finally got to stop carrying everything on my own.🫶

Stress doesn’t need to be extreme to be real. And anxiety doesn’t have to be visible to matter.💫
