Helping Women Recover Programme
Bushypark Addiction Treatment Service was awarded funding under the MWRDAF to provide a dedicated support programme for women in Clare impacted by addiction. As a result of funding received are rolling out a Helping Women Recover Programme in September 2024, that will run over 15 weeks including an introductory session.
The Helping Women Recover Programme is a gender-based, trauma-informed treatment program for women in recovery. It is grounded in research, theory, and clinical practice. A structured journal-based programme that is evidence based, is completed as part of the sessions with a view to providing women with additional skills, confidence based initiatives and recovery supports to enable them to continue into long term recovery
This programme helps women to gain an understanding of the impact of relationship issues, sexuality, confidence building, spirituality, relapse triggers with a focus on the issues of addiction and trauma.
The programme is open to all women over 18 years who are in recovery from substance or process addictions.
