Due to a technical fault with Vodafone, all phone lines in the area are down. Patients are advised to contact the emergency phone to the practice 083 8923623 to arrange an appointment. For the meantime prescription requests can be emailed to the practice, or Patients can present to the practice if an appointment is required. We apologise for the inconvenience, however this is a matter beyond our control.

As per the ESB, there has been a significant power outage throughout Ennis. Unfortunately this outage has resulted in a loss of power to the practice and currently our phone and IT systems are down.

Our emergency phone remains in operation. This phone is for emergencies only and should not be used to contact the practice for prescription or administrative requests.

Alert to Patients:

It has come to light that some individuals are calling elderly patients and advising them that an appointment is available for a COVID 19 Vaccine at local/non local hospital.

They also ask the person to confirm their name, DOB, PPSN and address. These individuals also attempt to determine if the patient can travel and even offer to go so far as to offer to administer the vaccine in the home.

THIS HAS BEEN IDENTIFIED AS A SCAM

Under no circumstances should you provide any information like that to an unidentified/unknown caller over the phone.

We would ask that patients be vigilant of this scam and advise any family members/neighbours, particularly the elderly who may not use social media of same.

Dear Patients,

We have been experiencing a large volume of calls to the practice over the past few weeks, particularly the last fortnight. We appreciate your continued patience and are working to resolve the matter.

Please be aware that requests for prescriptions / letters / forms etc can be submitted via email to the practice (address on our page).

We would ask that patients do not attempt to contact the surgery or staff through Facebook as this method is neither appropriate or secure.

NOTICE TO PATIENTS REGARDING COVID-19

Due to the recent surge in cases of COVID-19 Globally and throughout Europe, we would ask that all patients take note of the following information / advice:

If in the last 14 days you have:
1. Returned from a high risk area (see link)
AND/OR
2. Been in direct contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19
AND/OR
3. Attended a facility treating confimred cases of COVID-19

AND
are displaying / developing flu like symptoms:
1. Cough
2. Fever (temperature greater than 38 degrees)
3. Shortness of breath
4. Difficulty breathing

PLEASE CONTACT THE SURGERY PRIOR TO ATTENDING FOR A CONSULTATION. PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND THE SURGERY UNLESS INSTRUCTED TO DO SO BY ONE OF OUR GPs.

While COVID-19 can be a mild disease in most cases, it can have severe consequences for the elderly, frail and immunocompromised.

Patients who meet the aforementioned criteria and attend the practice, risk infecting other patients and staff, and thus are asked to remain at home until contacted by the GP.
