Mindfulness And Stress Reduction Services

Mindfulness And Stress Reduction Services Using Mindfulness we help to manage stress and anxiety and can enable you to appreciate the importance of your personal physical and mental wellbeing.

In today’s uncertain and very often chaotic world feeling well or having a sense of wellbeing is hard to achieve and comes very far down on priority lists. Stress and Anxiety, on the other hand, are the norms for many people, uncertainty, worry, lack of resources and dreaded fear for the future are the realities of life in twenty first century Ireland. Chronic stress is long associated with chroni

c disease, improving wellness and reducing stress, not only improves health and well being in the short term, but contributes to a relatively disease–free life in the future. We offer various mindfulness courses once a week including:

- 8 week Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR);

- Introduction to mindfulness meditation (4-6 weeks);

- Living with pain and illness (4-6 weeks);

We also offer a 1 day workshop on managing stress and anxiety for parents. One to one confidential consultations are also available.

'Summertime, It was a song, it was a season, I wonder if that season would ever live inside of me' - BA Saenz
As this summer of summers wains, I am delighted to tell all our FB friends that we will be starting our new Autumn MBSR programme at the River Lodge Health and Fitness Centre on Sept. 27th
Mindfulness can radically transform your life for the better...but only if you practice it! Mindfulness of the body can heal, Mindfulness of emotion can bring ease, Mindfulness of thought can lead to freedom and Mindfulness of relationships and community can blossom into understanding and love.
The attitude with which you undertake the practice of paying attention and being in the present moment is crucial. It is the soil in which you will be cultivating your ability to calm your mind and to relax your body, to concentrate and see more clearly - Jon Kabat Zinn

In this fast paced, hyperconnected world where multi-tasking is the norm, taking a pause and training your attention is a radical act.

Mindfulness meditation is a powerful tool that can help us upgrade our inner technology – the mind, to keep up with demands of our increasingly complex world.

Just like our bodies, our minds need training to function at their best. Mindfulness meditation is a form of mental training that supports the mind to be more focussed, clear and effective. It’s often described as the practice of bringing your full attention, in an open, non-judgmental way to the present moment.

Mindfulness is sweeping across the globe and training has now been implemented in many different sectors including in schools, hospitals, corporations, and government.

There is now compelling evidence supporting the fact that mindfulness meditation when practised regularly, can lead to:
> Structural changes in the brain associated with enhanced mental performance
> Reduced stress and it’s negative impact on the body and mind
> Improved physical and mental well being
> Reduced genetic ageing through it’s protective impact on gene expression and degeneration
> Increased happiness.
> Enhanced immune function

There’s only one way to experience the benefits of meditation, give it a go! What have you got to lose?
