What a weekend of sport!! Well done to Ireland's Ladies Hockey on their momentous breakthrough in qualifying for the Tokyo Olympics - but not easy on the heart to watch it from the sidelines!! Such is the toughness of sport that the men's team came ever so close once more to also qualifying last weekend, coming out the wrong side of similar close finish.

As a Chartered Physiotherapist with a vision impairment I am pleased to endorse the World Sight Day https://www.iapb.org/advocacy/world-sight-day/ and to support the National Council for the Blind of Ireland who work for vision impaired people in Ireland https://worldsightday.ie/ I was fortunate to have benefitted from training at a specialist training school in the early 1980’s and to have various supports available to me if necessary. Hopefully this campaign will reinforce the notion that blind and vision impaired people can have a full and active life despite whatever sensory limitation they live with
