Sinead Madden founder of the Hybrid Simulation Modelling Lab (HSML) was on Clare FM this morning thanks to Peter O Connell and the Morning Focus team, speaking about the MIDCARE simulator that was presented at the International System Dynamics Society conference this week at Boston University, addressing University Hospital Limerick overcrowding. A first for any Irish Regional Health Area or county.
The "Madden Model 4" study, part of the MIDCARE series first published by The Clare Champion in November 2024 and presented at a public meeting with stakeholders and decision-makers led to a submission by HSML to the National Development Plan proposing another center of excellence Model 4 University Hospital Ennis UHE for the region, another first for County Clare.
The MIDCARE Simulator can be used for future planning by decision-makers relating to the upcoming Budget 2026, Clare County Council Development Plan and the Health Information Quality Authority review.
