2 new products recently launched by Phonak

I was delighted to attend the recent launch of these 2 new products from Phonak.

The first is their new custom rechargeable hearing aid - the Virto which has all the benefits of being on the latest Phonak processing chip AND has the advantage of being Bluetooth compatible to enable streaming from both iPhone and Android phones. Shown here in a very cool looking black mimicing an ear bud. It is also available in a more traditional beige colour.
While I am loving the sound and functionality of it, my only regret is it cannot be made to a smaller CIC (completely in canal) size. However, they are fantastic for clients with dexterity issues or for someone who does not mind their aids being seen.

I feel the streaming capability from phones and sound quality easily make up for its marginally larger size.

The second offering (infinio Ultra) shown here is for one of my younger clients who has the most beautiful long dark coloured hair. Ordered in a graphite grey for her, the aids blend in beautifully with her hair tone and are barely noticeable. Again powered by AI the Infinio Ultra is pushing the boundaries of what AI can achieve in hearing aids.

A Small part makes a big impact!

I am giving a big shout out to Oticon (one of my hearing aid manufacturers) for their efforts in sustainability by redesigning the humble minifit filter (which prevents the ingress of wax to the hearing aid receiver) This change has resulted in a massive 52% less material used in the new handle design. They are also using more recycled content from production and are using packaging with FSC certified packaging. This illustrates how even small everyday changes can make meaningful contributions. As users, we often focus on the big device- but this shows the little changes deserve recognition too!!!
