It’s been a special week for me, being able to participate in two wonderful breathwork experiences, with a holotropic workshop at the weekend and a beaufiful somatic breathwork practice with . I’ve been immersed in the literature and research papers for college the past few weeks around the effects of breathwork and the healing that can occur in these non-ordinary states. From my own personal experience I am always blown away by how the breathwork can take an emotionally charged event, past or current, that is stored in the body, bringing it to the surface to process from a more resourced and supported place and from a higher perspective, to bring insight, clarity and new meaning. In this expanded state, one can become so open to new understanding, forgiveness, compassion, joy, aliveness, freedom and a direct connection to source.
But with the short workshops I never feel ready to return from the experience out into the world again, as it always feels a little overwhelming and lonely outside of the group. This is why myself and decided to offer a longer retreat from Thursday evening to Sunday morning to give more time for support and integration. Our intention is to create a safely held container to allow time for whatever needs to arise during the breathwork to be processed, and to have space to let the process unfold and deepen over the weekend. We’ll be offering lots of ways to integrate, with yoga and somatic movement, yin yoga, yoga nidra, river swimming, nature walks, sound baths, a closing cacao ceremony and lots of rest and nourishing food. If you feel the call, drop me a message and I can send on more details or arrange for a chat.
