I think its time to acknowledge the transition into spring now. I like to ease myself out of winter!! For me the season shift from winter into spring is the most noticeable. The others feel a bit more gradual.
Its hard not to notice the shift in energy and feeling of movement now into growth and renewal. I spotted a beautiful sight a few weeks ago of a flock of geese that arrived on the pier road, for anyone local. I like to admire them now on my walks.
In Chinese Medicine the wood season is all about growth and renewal and moving forth in life. Its a good time to consider the yin & yang organs, the liver and gallbladder. The liver is responsible for the smooth flow of qi in the body. In Chinese Medicine on a physical sense, the liver stores blood and is very important in the area of fertility and menstruation. The condition of our nails and the health of our eyes. The flexibility of our tendons and ligaments when we move.
Life can be busy and stress can impact the liver and cause stagnation, which can show up in different ways. We might find ourselves feeling more frustrated and irritable than usual, experience headaches, have PMT, notice sleep disturbance and have stiff necks. we might find we are having eye issues around this time.
The liver can be supported by movement, stretching and releasing pent up emotions in a healthy way. Eating certain food that nourish the liver. Supporting the blood and balancing rest and activity. It might feel like a good time to start planning and organising if there is something you'd like to achieve. Both the liver and gallbladder can support each other. The liver can help us visualise our goals, and the gallbladder can help us to have the courage to move forward to achieve these goals. So may you have a good spring🌷.
