Your golf swing is only as good as your body allows.

You can have the best clubs, the best intentions…
but if your body isn’t moving well, your swing will compensate.

That’s when you see:
• Loss of distance
• Inconsistent shots
• Tight lower back after a round
• Shoulder or elbow pain creeping in

Golf is all about rotation, control, and timing
and if your hips, spine, or shoulders are restricted, something else has to take the strain.

That’s where physio comes in.

At Phoenix Therapy we look at how your body moves,
use hands-on treatment to improve mobility,
and help you get back to swinging freely and consistently.

Play better.
Feel better.
Enjoy your round again.

Pain does not just affect your body.
It affects your sleep. Your mood. Your confidence. Your ability to show up fully in your life.

This month at Phoenix Therapy, we are focusing on what we treat and why it matters.

Because treating pain is not just about easing symptoms.
It is about understanding why it started.
Why it has not settled.
And what your body needs to feel safe moving again.

You do not have to wait until it is “bad enough”.
If something is limiting you, that is reason enough.

If you have been putting up with discomfort for weeks, months or even years, this is your reminder that support is available.

Save this post if you need it.
Share it with someone who might.

When you are ready, we are here.

That “tennis elbow” might not be from tennis…

Tennis elbow is one of the most common issues we see
and most people who have it don’t even play tennis.

It can come from:
• Repetitive work (typing, lifting, gripping)
• Gym training
• Golf
• Even everyday tasks

It usually starts as a small ni**le on the outside of the elbow…
then suddenly you can’t lift a kettle, grip properly, or shake hands without pain.

The mistake?
Waiting for it to “just go away”.

Tennis elbow tends to linger and worsen without the right treatment.

With proper physio, we focus on:
• Reducing pain
• Hands-on treatment to the muscles and tendon
• Restoring strength and load tolerance
• Fixing the cause, not just the symptoms

The earlier you treat it, the quicker it settles.

If your elbow has been talking to you… it’s time to listen.

When small aches are ignored, the body quietly compensates until everything feels heavier than it should. Addressing tension early helps restore balance, ease discomfort, and bring back that light, relaxed feeling in your body. Relief often starts with giving your body the attention it has been asking for.

Physiotherapy and massage work best when they address the source of pain, not just the symptoms.

Dry needling is a highly effective technique we use at Phoenix Therapy Galway to release deep muscle tension, reduce chronic pain, and restore movement. It targets trigger points within the muscle that often cause ongoing tightness, stiffness, and restricted mobility.

During treatment, fine needles are gently placed into specific areas to stimulate the body’s natural healing response. This helps increase blood flow, reduce inflammation, and allow overworked or guarded muscles to release. Many clients notice relief quickly, with continued improvements in flexibility and range of motion over the following days.

Dry needling is particularly helpful for long-standing pain, muscle fatigue, and tension caused by repetitive movements, stress, or injury. When combined with physiotherapy or massage, it supports recovery on a deeper level and helps prevent issues from returning.

If muscle pain, tension, or limited movement is affecting your day to day life, a tailored physiotherapy and massage approach, including dry needling, may help your body recover and move more freely again.

Our “couples massage” isn’t what you might expect…

You don’t have to be in the same room.
And you don’t even have to be a couple.

At Phoenix Therapy, your treatments take place in separate rooms,
so you can both fully relax without distraction.

Come with:
• A friend
• Your mum or sister
• Your partner
• Or anyone who could do with a bit of downtime

It’s about sharing the experience…
not the space.

You arrive together, unwind separately,
and leave feeling better.

Because sometimes the best kind of catch-up
is one where everyone actually gets to switch off.

We all know someone who says they’re fine, even when their body tells a different story.
They keep going, keep working, keep holding everything together, while exhaustion quietly builds.

Tight shoulders.
Headaches that linger.
A tiredness that sleep alone never seems to fix.

Sometimes the kindest thing you can offer is permission to pause.
A quiet moment to stop, breathe, and let the body soften.

Massage isn’t just a treat. It’s a chance to release built-up tension, calm the nervous system, and remind the body that it’s safe to rest.

If someone you care about has been running on empty, this is a simple, meaningful way to help them refill.

✨ Gift them time to rest.

You might blame your desk, your chair, or even your laptop.
But often, it’s simply your body asking for a break.

Long hours of sitting, hunching, scrolling, and moving from one task to the next can quietly build layers of tension. You may not notice it at first, until stiffness settles in or discomfort becomes part of your day.

That ache in your neck or shoulders isn’t random. It’s your body asking for release.

Massage helps unwind what long days create. It eases tight muscles, improves circulation, and restores ease of movement so your body can feel lighter again.

Take care of the body that carries you through every day.
Book your massage at Phoenix Therapy Galway and feel the difference for yourself.

Lymphatic Drainage isn’t just a “light massage”…

It’s a specialised treatment that can make a real difference to how your body feels and functions.

Your lymphatic system helps clear waste, reduce swelling, and support your immune system.
But sometimes it needs a bit of help.

Manual Lymphatic Drainage can support:
• Swelling and fluid retention
• Post-surgery recovery
• Injury healing
• Heavy, tired legs
• General sluggishness in the body

It’s gentle, rhythmic, and very different to deep tissue work
but the effects can be powerful.

Clients often say they feel:
• Lighter
• Less swollen
• More comfortable in their body

At Phoenix Therapy, treatments are carried out with a clinical understanding of the body
so you’re not just getting a treatment… you’re getting the right treatment.
