Hello, I’m Marie. I am the Owner & Founder of Marie's Counselling & Supervision. I'm a qualified Psychotherapist and Counsellor since 2004 working with a wide range of clients in Console, Pieta, Irish Online Counselling & Psychotherapy Service and at my Private Practice, Marie’s Counselling & Supervision. I also am a qualified Counsellor Supervisor since 2020. I’m accredited with the IACP (Irish Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy).
I’m a genuine human being who is kind and friendly towards others. I find it a pleasure and a privilege to journey with my clients. And I believe in all of us there is a little seed of hope and spirit that I can help to grow.
I started my journey as a Medical Scientist with a Masters Qualification in Biochemistry and an Acupuncturist but then I changed career to a Psychotherapist and Counsellor Supervisor, and I love every minute of it and have no regrets ever since.
I work with all ages (U18 & O18), Individuals and Couples and Families and all Mental Health Issues or Problems but mainly specialise in: Anger Management, Depression, Anxiety, Self-Harm, Personal Development, Panic Attacks, Grief, Su***de Intervention, Su***de Bereavement, Bereavement, Relationship Issues, Abuse Issues, Domestic Abuse, Stress, Stress Related Concerns and Trauma Events but mainly a Place to Talk and be Heard with NO JUDGEMENT.
As well as being a Psychotherapist and Counsellor, I'm also a Trained and Qualified Counsellor Supervisor providing Counsellor Supervision for Psychotherapists and Counsellors. I would view Counsellor Supervision as a collegial relationship with the sole purpose of supporting the Supervisee in their work with clients.
I’m a competent, hard – working, honest, kind, professional with a calm, friendly disposition and I bring this into the Therapy Session. I possess a high standard of work ethic in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Counsellor Supervisor and a genuine commitment to client's mental health. I’m a professional who has gained varied experience in Counselling, Psychotherapy and Counsellor Supervision over the past number of years.
I work with a Client Based Module, Confidentiality, and the Code of Ethics.
