Sarafalveyyoga Sara Falvey is a certified Iyengar Yoga Teacher since 2007, Yoga for Kids instructor (trained with YTTC 2011) and Mat Pilates Instructor since 2020.

I offer weekly Yoga classes (adults & kids), for all levels in a beautiful new yoga studio by the sea. All Classes on Thursday Evenings @ The Yoga Studio, Old Driving Range, Salthill H91 E9C3

Level 1 @ 6.15pm Thursdays (60 minutes)

Most of the students have a little yoga experience, but choose this class as the pace isn't too intense, and many are coming back to yoga after a long break and want

to go over the basics. Classes are themed each week. Please bring a mat and any other props you may have. Mixed Ability @ 7.30pm Thursdays (75 minutes)

If you are comfortable with the basics and would to develop your practice more, this class is for you. Poses are held for longer, we explore some level 2 asanas/pranayama and students will learn how to practise inversions -eg headstand and shoulder-stand. This class is a little longer to allow for some restorative practices towards the end- which are a great anti-dote to stress. - a great complement to the more active part of the class. All welcome! The use of Props
Props like blocks, belts and chairs are used to help with alignment and to help students access the asanas (postures). Props can be used to help investigate and deepen the experience of asana. Props can enable students to explore the effect of the asanas, to spread awareness to unexplored bodily regions. Kids Yoga Thursdays (50mins)
Kids get to practise yoga and develop their flexibility, concentration and body-awareness in a fun and playful way. Partner yoga, cooperative games and story will be used creatively to allow the children experience the joy of yoga asana while also having fun. Breathing and meditation techniques will be interwoven to help children feel balanced and calm. Kids get to cosy up at the end with blankets while they enjoy a guided visualisation. Upcoming courses:
Courses are on-going. There is usually space for drop ins or signing up for a course - which works out better value! Drop In Prices:

Yoga practice is our opportunity to be with ourselves and observe our mind and its fluctuations in order to learn how to restrain it. That is the greatest gift of yoga.

If you’ve been curious about inversions but unsure where to begin, this workshop offers a supportive way in.
We’ll break things down step by step — building strength, understanding alignment, and working with the actions that underpin a safe and steady inversion practice.
You’ll be guided through:
shoulder and chest opening
strength in the arms and core
ways to approach being upside down gradually
There will be options throughout, so you can participate in a way that feels appropriate for you.
We’ll finish with an exploration of an arm balance — approached in the same steady, accessible way.
Some yoga experience recommended.
The workshop runs from 10am-12noon in Croi Nua, Taylors Hill.

Inversions involve going upside down —
but there is more to them than that.
They ask us to organise the body with clarity and support, and to stay steady in an unfamiliar position.
In Iyengar Yoga, inversions are valued for their effect on both body and mind — building strength, balance, and a sense of quiet focus.
As B.K.S. Iyengar writes:
“The head is the seat of intelligence; the heart is the seat of emotion. Inversions bring them into harmony.”
In this Deepen the Practice (2hr Workshop),
we’ll work through the foundations step by step —
with options and support given throughout.

My next Deepen the Practice (2hr Workshop) will focus on
Foundations for Inversions
This is not about getting upside down for the sake of it.
We’ll take time to build the work from the ground up —
through the shoulders, arms, and spine — so that inversion becomes something you understand, not something you force.
There will be a range of options throughout, including supported and preparatory work, so you can work at your own level. Many of you joined the last workshop — I’d love to see you back for this next step.
✨ Expect a steady, focused practice
✨ Time to stay, observe, and refine
✨ And the quiet clarity that inversion work can bring

This Thursday at 6pm, I’m slowing everything down.
A fully restorative evening practice AT CROI NUA, TAYLORS HILL — supported poses, longer holds, quiet breath.
A chance to pause.
To exhale properly.
To let the nervous system settle.
If you’ve been running on empty, this is your space.
