As the turning of the wheel of the year rolls by another season and we officially meander into the Harvest Season of LUGHNASA - we are reminded of the reaping what we sew.

Lughnasa marks the beginning of autumn. It is the beginning of the harvest season and celebrates the decline of summer into winter. The old Celtic pagan festival lasted a month, with August 1 at its midpoint, but is currently most often celebrated on the Sunday closest to that date.

Rituals often involve celebrating the first fruits, creating and sacrificing corn dollies, climbing hills or mountains, and feasting on new foods. Other traditions include dancing, music, and craft fairs.

✨ Celebrating the First Fruits - This involves gathering and offering the first fruits of the harvest, often symbolizing abundance and gratitude for the harvest.

✨ Corn Dollie- Making and offering corn dollies, often from wheat stalks, is a fertility symbol and a way to honor the earth

✨ Hill and Mountain Climbing - Climbing hills and mountains, like Croagh Patrick, is a tradition that echoes the ancient gatherings and a way to connect with nature.

✨ Clear out your alter, sweep and mop, pick new flowers, candles and scents for the alter and light earthy incense such as Aromatic Oudh, Frankincense and Sandal.
