I am no longer offering private breastfeeding and tongue tie consultations. However, I am working in the Well Baby Breastfeeding Clinic at University Hospital, Galway. Appointments for this clinic can be sought through your public health nurse.

Covid-19 has a significant impact on breastfeeding support. If you are encountering difficulties with breastfeeding seek help. I am still offering face-face tongue tie assessments and divisions. I am still taking appointments for tongue tie assessment and division. However I have had to adapt my practice in order to limit risk during this covid-19 pandemic. I'm offering appointments at evenings & weekends so that you & your baby are the only ones in the practice and there is a telephone consultation initially to take the history etc, this limits the time spent face to face in consultation with each other. So please don't stay at home struggling to breastfeed (or bottle feed) -if there's a concern about tongue tie have it formally assessed.

During the Covid-19 pandemic to alleviate the worry some parents will have about bringing their new baby to a busy GP surgery I am offering evening & weekend appointments. This way they will be the only ones in the building 😊

Breastfeeding is often described as the most natural thing in the world and it can be but that doesn't mean it comes naturally to mothers. Often it's something we have to work at and learn, like any skill really. Learning about breastfeeding and how to overcome early and common issues that arise will give you the confidence you need to feed your baby.
