βοΈ LΓ¬ dΕng η«ε¬ β The Beginning of Winter
β
The Yin season begins β time to nourish your roots and return to stillness.
β
As the days grow shorter and the air turns crisp and quiet, nature enters a sacred pause. In the Taoist calendar, this moment is known as LΓ¬ dΕng (η«ε¬) β the Beginning of Winter.
β
It marks not only a change in weather, but a profound shift in energy β from activity to stillness, from expansion to preservation.
β
In Taoist wisdom, Winter belongs to the Waterπ§ element, ruled by the Kidneys, the source of our deepest vitality, willpower, and essence.
This is the season to slow down, breathe deeply, and keep the warmth of life circulating withinπ

βοΈ Winter Practice: Warming the Door of Life (Ming Men)
β
1οΈβ£ Rub your palms until they feel hot and alive.
2οΈβ£ Place them on your lower back β over your kidneys, just above the waist. Feel the warmth sinking in.
3οΈβ£ Inhale gently into your Lower Tan Tien (below the navel).
Exhale and see warmth flowing into your kidneys and the point between them β the Ming Men, your Door of Life.
4οΈβ£ Smile inwardly to your kidneys, thanking them for holding your life force through the cold season.
β
Practice for 3β5 minutes every morning or evening β notice how your body softens, your breath deepens, your energy centers.
