We're really liking the look of these workshops for kids from the Sky before Screens gang 🥰

Would you like to give your children a fish oil but not sure if they will take it? We've free samples of the chewable fish oil from - they are little orange flavoured jelly pieces containing omega 3 and vitamin D (my kids call them goldfish!). I've divided them into sections of 3 jellies as all parents know you need to try something for more than just one day!

Using some of the apples to make apple chutney this afternoon. All ingredients bar the apples and the malt vinegar are from the shop (I'm wondering if I could have used the cider vinegar from the shop, but I didn't want to waste the apples if it went wrong so I stuck firmly to the BBC recipe! I've only had a tiny taste but it smells delicious 😋 SONNENTOR

225g/8oz onions, chopped
900g/2lb apples, cored and chopped
110g/4oz sultanas, raisins or chopped dates
15g/½oz ground coriander
15g/½oz paprika
15g/½oz mixed spice
15g/½oz salt
340g/12oz granulated sugar
425ml/¾ pints malt vinegar

Put all the ingredients into a preserving pan. Slowly bring to the boil until the sugar has dissolved.

Simmer for 1½–2 hours, stirring from time to time to stop the chutney sticking to the pan.

When it is very thick and you can draw a wooden spoon across the base of the pan so that it leaves a channel behind it that does not immediately fill with liquid, the chutney is ready.

Turn into sterilised jars, seal and cool.

Store in a cool, dark cupboard for two to three months before eating.

We have a few of these beautiful books from Helen McCormack, herbalist, for sale in the shop. I met Helen many, many years ago at the health food shop where I worked in Dublin, and we now have a connection at this shop too. She is such an immensely knowledgeable, down-to-earth and pragmatic person, oozing gentle kindness, curiosity and compassion. This is borne out in her wonderfully practical, detailed, and visually gorgeous guide

You'll recognise the format from some high street brands (just add hot water) but these have none of the nasties such as the flavour enhancers and other chemicals

Devil's bit! I'm pretty sure I posted about it last year too but hey ho! It's my favourite, or one of them anyway. It's sheer perfection of form and colour and it's made my day today 🥰
