📣 FRIDAY LIVE CHATS 📣

I'm at it again! This week I get to chat to 🙏 as part of my ongoing series of Insta LIVES with inspiring people!

Manasi is a Dublin/Bray based Yoga teacher, bringing her unique style of yoga and devotion to classes all over the island!

From Manasi: "Born and raised in India, 'my Yoga journey' has been a part of my life at various levels. My principles of life are very much in line with the Yoga Philosophy. Asana practice drew my attention to heal from a chronic back injury. Experiencing the benefits of yoga physically as well as energetically, I have only strengthened my belief system on it.

I have been a corporate geek for a few years before I took up my Teacher Training, purely to immerse in practice and switch off, but least did I imagine I'd sit on that red teacher's mat, lead a class, share all the learnings from my heart to as many people as I can. I haven't looked back the last 9+ years. A mother of two, Ireland is currently my home. I have found my feet and my community here and am always looking to connect heart to heart - this is my why!"

This is yet another *not to be missed* live chat on Insta, this Friday!! Log on, and join us!!!

Thank you for all your views and feedback on the series!

My weekly Hatha style classes are back!!!

Evening Class is on Tuesday 7:30pm-8:45pm is a mix of breath work, sun and moon salutations and then an in depth focus on the different parts of the body, focusing on a different area each week.

Morning Class is on Wednesday at 10:30-11:30, both classes open to beginners, or wherever you are in your practice.

I teach a Hatha Style Yoga focuses on stretching, moving and balancing in the physical body, which links up with anatomy training through my sports therapy background.

The breath work and meditation focus on soothing and balancing the nervous system; which links up with my understanding on the parasympathetic nervous system as a Psychotherapist.

Classes take place at Rockbarton Yoga, over the Salthill Handball Club on Rockbarton Court Rd.

Feel free to DM me with any questions / to book and come to Yoga class!

Thanks to Andrew Hamilton & Joe Shaughs for coming along to Yoga last week to take a class and chat politics.

This is a great article whereby people got to chat politics in the most unexpected place, a Yoga class!

Yoga as seen in the West, seems like it's a million miles away from politics, but did you know Yoga can be political. Yoga is about care, for yourself, your mind, your body, your community, your sense of being. These things are all political in some way.

"But there has always been an intersection of yoga and politics. The Bhagavad Gita itself revolves around politics, war, and yoga. Or we can look back to Gandhi, and the way he used the yoga teachings as the basis for nonviolent resistance. He led a movement that overthrew the colonial British government and inspired Martin Luther King Jr. and the Civil Rights Movement. " - Jivana Heyman, Yoga Journal
Of course, if you practice because it helps you chill out or stay fit, that ABSOLUTELY Yoga too!

Thanks to everyone who made this practice and spoke to Andrew.

Make sure you're registered to vote!

FRIDAY LIVE CHATS 📣

As part of my weekly live chats with therapist, teachers, and facilitator; this week I am very excited to chat with nutritionist Bridget Wing

After using diet and complementary therapies for health for a number of years, Bridget trained in Nutritional therapy in Galway and qualified in 2010 and has continued with an ethos of healthy diet for herself and her family.

"Whilst studying, I was working in the field of drug and alcohol addictions, and then as a nutritionist with homeless services and I still hold strong conviction that there is a need for the use of nutrition therapy and education for people within those services and those living  on the margins of society." - Bridget

With a love of sports, Bridget trained in functional sports nutrition. More recently, she says her own need for better / different sports nutrition as a middle aged athlete sent me searching for information that wasn't there so she took on an MSc in sport & exercise nutrition which she just finished with a honors.

Bridget's specialties include sports performance nutrition with specific interest in master athletes and older sports people; nutrition for the elderly and geriatric care; nutrition for addictions/recovery/marginalised individuals; metabolic control for diabetes management and menopause bodies.

"I was diagnosed with cancer in 2022, took a year off everything for treatment/recovery and am flying it again. Went back to MSc with menopause- and chemo-melted brain cells and did great which shows that us women are amazing things!!" - Bridget

Sounds pretty inspirational right?! Can't wait to have this LIVE insta chat with Bridget, Friday 8th at 5pm 🙏

Why Do Yoga?
Yoga is a real buzz word these days, everyone’s trying it or doing it and there are many types and styles and many ways to do yoga. Here are a few of the benefits that you can experience from a weekly or regular Hatha yoga practice:

1. Increased Flexibility
2. Toned Muscles
3. Improved Posture
4. Pain Relief
5. Improved Breathing
6. Calmer Mind
7. Healthier Lifestyle Choices
8. Protection from disease
9. Better Sleep

Starting a Yoga Practice at any age is an incredible thing you can do for yourself. We all know that when we are feeling good in our bodies and good in our minds, that we tend to focus on healthier, more positive ways of living and working. It is very common for people that practice yoga to begin to choose healthier lifestyles and to have better food choices

Huge thank you to everyone who joined me at the autumn retreat at Delphi this past weekend. Every year the retreats get better and better.

Taking the time to step away from everyday life, even if we don't travel far, is so important to our well-being. Through practices of movement and meditation, we find and create space in the body and mind.

A great weekend, spent in great company; with great chats, laughs, food and friends!

Thank you 🙏
