Our Story

YogaSomaPilates classes to help you feel aligned and well. After just one class, you will feel lighter, walk taller, find your mind is calm, your breathing is relaxed and be at ease in your body. Contact: Ruthe on 085 1608 134 or email info@rutheburke.com Ruthe is passionate about using breath and gravity to connect body and mind. Her teaching aims to ‘sit’ with what is, following the breath through movement, paying attention to what and how we move, setting intention, and practicing mindfulness. Somatics Movement classes provide gentle, nurturing, healing movement opportunities on the mat, releasing muscle tension, and bringing you greater flexibility and ease of movement. Her classes are particularly beneficial for people who are new to yoga and movement practices. They enhance your wellbeing, and promote positive mental health. Learn how to strengthen your pelvic floor and use breathing meditations to stay focused and calm.

Pilates classes aim to tone and re-energise, give you a greater sense of space; feel calm, alert and strong in body, spirit, and mind. Prenatal Yoga classes offer a great way to take care of yourself and your baby, through pregnancy, birth and beyond! She will help you prepare your body and mind for labour and birth, improve your posture, and learn how to use your breathing to relax, release any muscle tension and let go, surrendering to the exhilaration and awesome beauty of your individual, powerful birthing experience. Further benefits of Prenatal Yoga include relaxation, breathing techniques, ‘me-time’, gentle stretching, pelvic floor control, manage pregnancy niggles like back pain and indigestion, boost energy levels, bond with baby, and meet other expectant mums. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Ruthe also teaches Postnatal Yoga, Parent & Baby Yoga, and Infant Massage. Postnatal Yoga is for Mums, while Mum & Baby Yoga encourages positive communication, and nurturing, loving touch between Parent & Baby, a workout followed by relaxation for Mum & Baby, and support in a warm and welcoming network of other new Mums.

Infant Massage especially gives parent and baby (Dads allowed!) a unique opportunity to relax in each other’s presence, enhances the bonding process, and provides a fun, playful, and relaxing way for Parent & Baby to spend time together. This class is highly recommended!
