After the disappointment of a DQ in the 1500m, my favourite international middle distance runner has only gone and won again. This time over 5000m.
He sat quietly confident within the pack, whilst others played cat and mouse.
Then at around 200m out, he launched an awesome kick; displaying his 1500m speed to go away from the field.
Olympic Champion - 1500m - 2024
Now - World Champion - 5000m - 2025
What an amazing athlete !
As an 19yr old he was a standout athlete. He left the University of Oregon after being offered a professional contract, following on from his success in winning the NCAA Mile and 3000m titles Indoors and the NCAA 1500m outdoors, all in his Freshman year in 2020 !
In 2021 - Tokyo Olympics - 1500m he finished in 6th place.
In 2024 he was just pipped for the World Indoor 1500m title in Glasgow by Geordie Beamish, who incedently won the 3000m Steeplechase title in Tokyo this past week and is another athlete who has an unmerciful kick.
What’s most amazing is that Cole is still only 24 years of age !
Well done Cole Hocker, you an inspiration to so many runners around the world.

A bit shoutout to Sue, Joanne, Melissa, Rachel, Aoife and Liz, taking part in The New York City Marathon today.
Your time has arrived and no doubt you are in position, out on Staten Island right now awaiting the start, with just over two hours to go !
You will be amongst the 50,000 finishers today.
Enjoy what should be an amazing day.

Congratulations to everyone who ran and completed the Dublin City Marathon.
I have such respect for all of you.
Now it’s time to put the feet 👣 up and rest and recover for a bit before starting back and preparing for you next goal.

A big shoutout to all my clients and friends running the Dublin City Marathon tomorrow.
The training is done and tomorrow will test your physical, emotional and mental strength to complete this epic distance.
I’ve watched lots of you on the course for many years and I never ever get tired of seeing runners living their dreams out there.
Please god the weather stays kind and everyone comes home happy and safe.
Most importantly stick to your planned pace and take it handy over the first six or seven miles of the course. I’ll be cheering you home.

The Deep Riverrock Belfast City Marathon is happening tomorrow. The weather is giving a low of 7 degrees and scattered showers, so it's important to dress accordingly. A big shout out to wish all my clients and friends, who have been with me over the last few weeks whilst they fined tuned their preparations for this big day. Listen guys, it's gonna happen !!! You are such a fab bunch and have made my job so satisfying, whilst listening, advising and treating all of you. Let's see lots of personal best times and most importantly enjoy the experience of running in a big event again.
