MBSR Wexford is an educational training resource for all those interested in developing the skills of Mindfulness. It is run by HSE approved MBSR instructor Una Keeley. Una offers Courses in County Wexford, Ireland.
MBSR is the Official Gold Standard Mindfulness Course, highly recommended by Doctors psychotherapists and counselors. It is the official 8 week course on which all the scientific studies are based. It is regulated by the Mindfulness Teachers Association of Ireland. Una is a fully qualified professional member of the MTAI.

What is an MBSR Course?
MBSR was originally developed at the University of Massachusetts Medical Centre in the 1970s by Jon Kabat-Zinn in response to the needs of patients dealing with chronic pain.
It’s a specific 8-week group program that focuses upon the progressive acquisition of mindful awareness through meditation and body exercises. Weekly 2hr 30 mins group classes are held, with a one-day retreat (six-hour mindfulness practice) between sessions six and seven. Participants commit to a 45 minute daily practice at home, throughout the course. Instruction in three formal techniques: mindfulness meditation, body scanning and simple yoga postures are given.
Body scanning is a formal mindfulness technique taught during the first four weeks of the workshop, it entails quietly lying on one’s back and focusing one’s attention on various regions of the body, starting with the toes and moving up slowly to the top of the head. This technique is supported with the use of a Guided CD for home use.
MBSR is based on the following tenets: non-judging, non-striving, acceptance, letting go, beginner’s mind, patience, trust and non-resistance.
Which conditions does MBSR help ?
In addition to MBSR’s preventative and supportive role in helping us cope with everyday Stress at work and at home, scientific studies have shown that it can be helpful in alleviating the symptoms and psychological distress of a range of conditions. These include

Commitment Needed to Achieve Results
This 8 week course is designed to help you achieve very concrete and long lasting results. Therefore it requires a level of commitment in order to allow you to achieve these. A commitment to attend each weekly class, as well as the full day of Mindfulness in between week 6 and 7 is needed.
Participants will also need to consider adjusting their daily routines to allow for a daily home practice of 45mins for the duration of the course.
Certificate of Completion
All participants receive an official MBSR certificate of completion.
Attending this MBSR course is also prerequisite for anyone intending to do further training in Mindfulness .
This course is a prerequisite for anyone intending to do further training in Mindfulness. It gives participants a complete foundation in Mindfulness. It also sets up within participants a solid personal practice of Mindfulness.
It is ideal for Primary and Secondary Teachers intending to access further professional training in mindfulness for schools. You must have completed this course if you want to apply to do the official Dot .b and Paws .b training courses.

Una Keeley is a professional Irish MBSR Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Instructor. She is the founder and owner of Mindful Create. Training Executives, Managers & Staff to De-Stress with Mindfulness Stress Reduction Skills. Una is a HSE approved Mindfulness Instructor, training HSE staff in mindfulness. Una has been practicing meditation for 25 years. She Adheres to The Irish Good Practice Guidelines for Teaching Mindfulness-Based Courses. Una is a trained MBSR Mindfulness Instructor with the Institute for Mindfulness Based Approaches, IMA Germany.

Una is also a professional Artist with a Masters in Art Education. She has designed educational programmes for arts organisations and institutions for over 25 years. Including 15 years with The Irish Museum of Modern Art. Her background includes a Masters in Art Education, an Honors Degree in ceramics, and a Diploma in illustration for children's books. Una designs and offers courses which combine Mindfulness and Creativity.
