“Embracing the rhythms of the moon in our yoga practice 🌕🌑 Did you know many yogis, especially in traditions like Ashtanga, observe ‘Moon Days’ by resting or modifying their asana practice?
Just like the moon’s gravitational pull influences the ocean’s tides, it’s believed to affect our bodies’ energetic state:
🌕 Full Moon: High tide energy! Prana is expansive, making us feel energetic but potentially ungrounded. This can sometimes lead to overstretching if we push too hard. A great time for rest or meditation.

It’s all about honoring the natural cycles and listening deeply to your own body’s needs. How do you adjust your practice with the moon phases? Share your thoughts below! 👇

Antar Kumbhaka, is a specific breath retention technique in the practice of Pranayama (yogic breathing).

Antar Kumbhaka literally means “interior breath retention” (Antar = interior; Kumbhaka = breath retention). It is the practice of holding the breath after a full inhalation.

The practice of Antar Kumbhaka is associated with a wide range of benefits, encompassing the respiratory, nervous, and subtle energy systems of the body and mind.

Consult your Yoga teacher to learn, if any medical issues please contact a yoga therapist (Can message me) or your Dr.Pranayama is of great help at the same time if not done correctly might have adverse effects.

You are not defined by what you keep, but by what you choose to release.

Breathe in renewal.
Breathe out letting go.

This is your moment to be lighter. This is your breath to be free. Can’t suggest a better place for spa, yoga and meditation

10 days of fruit and nut fasting complete! 🥭🌰 What started as a personal challenge during a seasonal shift and inspired by the spirit of “good over evil”the Navaratri time turned into a profound journey of self-discovery.

The first few days were a test of discipline, especially with tempting aromas from the kitchen! But realizing it was my decision gave me the clarity to move forward with gratitude. And oh, the surprises! My energy levels soared, concentration peaked, and laziness became a distant memory. My digestion felt amazing, and my mind was incredibly clear.

It’s been a powerful realization: sometimes, the “evil” we battle is simply the amount and type of food we consume. Who knew I didn’t need grains or meat for a great, energetic day? Surrendering to the universe truly brings forth incredible things. Feeling lighter, brighter, and incredibly grateful. 🙏✨

It’s that time of year again! As the seasons change, it’s also a wonderful opportunity to embrace new dietary habits and incorporate breath work into your routine. This yogic approach is a fantastic way to smoothly and effectively transition into the new season. Come join Yogawithparag and experience the change!

Yogic and Ayurvedic wisdom emphasizes aligning your digestive fire (Agni) with the seasons (Ritucharya). Since we are currently in a transitional time (late September/early October), the shift from the heat of Pitta season (Summer) to the cool, dry, and mobile Vata season (Autumn/Fall) is key.

The Navaratri Reset: From Tamas to Sattva

Seven days into my fast, the profound connection between diet and spirit is undeniable. My energy is surging not because of food, but because of its absence.

The fast enabled the yoga: By embracing the clean, light sattvic diet of the fast, the tamas (inertia & sluggishness) of heavy digestion was cleared from my system. This created a clear biochemical path, allowing my mind to settle instantly and achieve the razor-sharp concentration needed for Trataka.

The yoga deepened the devotion: This deep state of stillness led to unbelievable, wordless bliss. Seeing the sun so big in my inner gaze was a profound confirmation, proving that our ancestral practices are a perfect blend of devotion and science.

The mind was stilled, nothing holding me back. Thank you, Universe, for this first taste of pure bliss.

Navaratri & Yogic Fasting: A Deep Dive for Body, Mind, and Soul

Navaratri, meaning “nine nights,” is a powerful Hindu festival dedicated to the divine feminine energy of Goddess Durga. It’s a time of deep devotion, vibrant celebration, and a unique opportunity for inner transformation. One of the key practices during this period is fasting, which, from a yogic perspective, goes far beyond simply abstaining from food.

What is Navaratri Fasting?
Fasting during Navaratri is a spiritual discipline (sadhana) designed to purify the body, calm the mind, and connect with the divine. It’s not about starvation, but rather a mindful way of eating. The goal is to give the digestive system a rest and reduce the tamasic (lethargic) and rajasic (agitated) qualities of the body, allowing for greater spiritual clarity.

The Yogic Benefits of Fasting

1. Physical Cleansing (Detoxification).
2. Mental Clarity & Focus.
3. Enhanced Self-Discipline.
4. Balancing the Energies (Gunas): According to yogic philosophy, everything is made up of three qualities or gunas: sattva (purity), rajas (activity), and tamas (inertia).
5. Reconnecting with Your Inner Self.

How to Practice Mindful Fasting:
• Listen to your body.
• Stay hydrated with water, fresh juices, and buttermilk.
• Incorporate fruits, nuts.
• Complement your fast with gentle yoga and meditation.

Navaratri is more than a festival; it’s an annual reset for the body, mind, and spirit. Embrace this powerful practice to not only celebrate the goddess but to also awaken the divine within you.

Nature, in its myriad forms, is a living, breathing testament to the interconnectedness of all things. Just as the delicate wings of this creature are perfectly adapted to its environment, so too are we, in our essence, intricately woven into the grand tapestry of the universe.

A yogic path invites us to observe this harmony, not just outwardly, but within. The breath that flows through us, the stillness we seek in meditation, the surrender to the present moment – these are echoes of nature’s rhythm. When we align with this natural flow, we dissolve the illusion of separation and remember our true nature: infinite, boundless, and eternally connected to the life force that animates all.

May this moment of shared presence, with a tiny creature and a vast landscape, be a gentle reminder to breathe, to observe, and to find the deep peace that resides in our inherent unity with all of existence.
