✨ Partners, this one’s for you ✨

So often, partners want to be supportive during pregnancy, birth, and those early postpartum days, but don’t always know where to start.

That’s why Simone (.ofadublindoula) and I are creating workshops, especially for birth partners. A space to feel more informed, confident, and connected.

But here’s the thing: we want to make sure we include what matters most to you.

👉 What are you most curious to know about pregnancy, birth, and beyond?

We’d love if you could take 2 minutes to fill out our short survey and share your thoughts:

Newborns don’t come with an off switch, and sleepless nights are one of the hardest parts of early parenthood. But here’s the thing: it’s not just about “toughing it out”. There are real, evidence-based ways to cope, protect your wellbeing, and find rest even in the blur of those first weeks.

In my latest blog, I share:

💛 Why babies wake so often (and why that’s actually a good thing)
💛 How sleep deprivation really affects parents (science + real talk)
💛 Practical strategies to make nights easier
💛 The role of support systems, including how night doulas can help

Your sleep matters. Your wellbeing matters. And there are ways to get through this with more balance.

Just a few days ago, I had the absolute honour of witnessing the most beautiful and calm birth. ✨

This incredible woman brought her baby girl into the world with such strength, bravery, and trust in herself. After a very difficult and traumatic first birth, this time was all about taking her power back. And that’s exactly what she did. Fully in tune with her body, her mind, and her baby every step of the way.

When her waters broke at 2am, she stayed calm, called me, took a shower, and got as much rest as possible. By the time I arrived a couple of hours later, she was centred, ready to let labour progress gently. Even the soft Irish rain couldn’t stop her. So, with an umbrella in hand, we walked up and down the road together, sharing chats, laughs, and deep grounding breaths. Back at home, she climbed stairs to give her pelvis a good stretch, rested, stayed hydrated, and kept her energy up with little bites to eat.

When it was time to go to the hospital, she grabbed her comb and TENS machine and calmly prepared for the one-hour journey. From the moment we walked through the hospital doors, it was just over an hour before their beautiful daughter was born. An extraordinary reminder of what’s possible when women are listened to, supported, and able to follow their instincts.

Her partner was her anchor. He was right there, holding space, reminding her to breathe calmly, encouraging her with such tenderness and asking thoughtful questions so they could make decisions together. His steady presence made all the difference.

It was such an honour to witness this beautiful, empowering journey. From trauma to trust, from fear to courage. What a start to life for their little fighter. 🥰

Huge congratulations to this wonderful couple on the birth of their baby girl. She couldn’t have asked for a more loving welcome into the world. 💕

Have you ever felt like you were meant for something different, something more aligned with your heart?

For years, I worked in corporate tech. I loved parts of it, but deep down, I always wondered … Is this really it? When I was impacted by layoffs, it felt like the rug had been pulled out from under me. But looking back, that pause was the gift I didn’t know I needed.

In this week’s episode of the podcast, I chat with Niamh Cassidy about what it really looked like to walk away from a “real job” and step into birthwork.

🎧 We talk about:

🌀 The emotional rollercoaster of leaving a steady job.

💭 Fears around identity, income & what others might think.

🎁 Why an unexpected pause opened the door to something more meaningful.

🛠️ How I used my corporate skills to build a purpose-led business that supports parents and families.

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering “Am I mad to even consider this?”, this might be the nudge or the pep talk you’ve been waiting for.

Yesterday, just before 6pm, I had the absolute honour of witnessing a powerful and beautiful birth. This incredible woman brought her baby boy into the world with so much strength, trust, and connection. She was completely in tune with her body, following her instincts every step of the way.

After labouring at home, she arrived at the hospital just two hours before giving birth. She knew exactly what she needed and, just as importantly, what she didn’t. She moved, breathed, and rested in a way that honoured her body and her baby. What a powerful reminder of what’s possible when women feel safe and supported.

Her partner was right by her side, holding the space with love, calm, and presence. A truly beautiful team.

It was also a joy to work alongside one of the at the who honoured her wishes with such kindness and respect, bringing calm to every moment. This birth was such a beautiful example of what can unfold when birthing people are listened to, trusted, and surrounded with care.

Huge congratulations to this wonderful couple on the birth of their beautiful baby boy. What a gentle and empowering start to life. He couldn’t have asked for a better welcome.

If you’re expecting and wondering what doula support could look like for you, I’d love to chat. Every journey is unique, and you deserve support that’s as individual as you are.

Thank you so much to the lovely North Wicklow Women’s Shed for having me.

It was such a joy to share my story and speak about what it means to be a Birth & Postpartum Doula. We talked about the shift from corporate life to following my true passion—supporting families during one of the most powerful and tender times of life.

I loved the warmth, curiosity, and brilliant questions from everyone in the room. Community spaces like this are so special, and I’m really grateful to be part of it.

Thank you again for the invitation and the lovely welcome!

A huge Thank You to Anke Roth Doula for meeting with our Shed members yesterday.

Anke spoke about being a Birth & Postpartum Doula and how after many years in the Corporate world she decided to follow her true passion: supporting families during childbirth and the precious postpartum time. Anke is also passionate about providing evidence-based information alongside emotional and physical support.

Thanks Anke for an extremely interesting and informative session. We were delighted that you could join us.

I’m beyond proud, and let’s be real, a little emotional, to share that I’ve been named a finalist in the Emerging Businesswoman category with Network Ireland Wicklow Branch.

Less than 18 months ago, running my own business felt like a far-off dream. A “maybe someday” kind of idea I quietly carried (usually while folding laundry or stuck in traffic 😄).

Fast forward to today: I’m officially a business owner supporting families through one of life’s biggest transitions.

Leaving behind 25+ years in the corporate world was no small leap. I traded structure, teams, and regular pay for total uncertainty, solo decision-making, and Googling everything.

But I leaned into what I knew: coaching, mentoring, crisis management, and active listening.

I trained as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, supporting families from pregnancy through the fourth trimester.

I became a Parenting Journey Coach, helping parents feel more confident and less alone.

And I brought my corporate brain into consulting, helping companies build family-friendly workplaces and support parents returning to work.

I also dove headfirst into upskilling: coaching certifications, bookkeeping, LGBTQ+ inclusion, premature birth support, Paediatric First Aid ... you name it. I worked with brilliant mentors and business coaches. I built a strong support system. And I kept going, because I knew this work mattered.

None of this would’ve been possible without my people:

🧡 My amazing family – You believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself.

🧡 Marie-Louise, Deborah & Niamh from Network Ireland – Thank you for nudging me to put myself forward.

🧡 The incredible Krysia Lynch - Dublin Doula, doula, mentor, teacher & friend – Your support means the world.

🧡 And the brilliant team at the Entrepreneurs Academy – You gave me the tools and confidence to make this dream real.

What once felt like a roadblock has become the most meaningful journey of my life.

Now, I get to support others through their transitions, whether that’s life with a new baby, a career shift, or chasing a dream that once felt just out of reach.

✨ One Year of Friendship ✨

A year ago, I signed up for the Befriending Programme with .ireland, thinking I would be supporting someone who might need a bit of company. Turns out, I gained a wonderful friend.

Every Friday, I visit my 89-year-old friend, and honestly, it’s one of the highlights of my week. We chat about everything and nothing, we laugh a lot, and somehow, time always flies. It’s a simple thing; just showing up, sharing a cuppa, being there. But it means so much to both of us.

It’s funny how life works. You think you’re giving, but you end up receiving just as much, if not more.

As a Doula and Parenting Journey Coach, I see this all the time. Having the right support makes all the difference, whether you’re welcoming a new baby or just needing a friendly face to brighten your day. We all need connection. We all need someone who listens.

Here’s to many more “friendversaries” ahead!

And if you’ve ever thought about joining a Befriending Programme or just reaching out to someone who might need a little company, do it! You never know what kind of friendship might be waiting for you. 💛
