Every day I am privileged to work with truly amazing women. Women who experience physical pain beyond that which many of us can imagine, women who are working their way through emotional health challenges, fertility challenges, family challenges, career and work challenges. Alongside this, all of these women are inspiring, real, authentic, emotional, resilient and all the rainbow of characteristics within.
Today I honour both the strength and the softness, the yin and the yang, in each and every one of you. Happy International Women’s Day 💜

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, love is often viewed as a vital energy that nourishes the heart and spirit. A good reminder this Valentine’s Day to mind and nurture your heart energy towards yourself and others, in whatever way that feels right to you.

It is just so lovely when I get these updates. Being a small part of the journey through fertility challenges and pregnancy is such a privilege. The leap of joy I feel when hearing about the arrival of the baby never gets less - wishing this fabulous and brave woman and her family all the very best.

While acupuncture can’t be completely environmentally friendly (all needles are used once and disposed of in medical waste), I try to do the best I can.
I was delighted to receive my delivery of Acufast Earth Friendly Needles which have recyclable packaging, use a more earth friendly metal handle and use a more environmentally friendly method of sterlization. Acufast also plants a tree for every two boxes of needles used - great to know 😊🌳

Have you noticed the round marks on the swimmers this Olympics? I believe it was Michael Phelps who first sported this look in the 2016 Olympics. The round marks are as a result of Cupping - a method in Chinese Medicine which draws blood to the muscles to promote healing and recovery. I regularly use cupping in my practice, not just for muscular recovery / injury but also for general well being and other conditions. Acupuncture treatments aren’t only about the needles, there are lots of different methods that can be used to enhance treatment. Dear social media community. I would be grateful for your help.

Let me explain: My work is primarily about reaching and supporting women from the beginning their Perimenopause journey, and all the way through to the decades after menopause. I also train Yoga teachers, Fitness professionals and Psychotherapists in my courses for professionals in Teaching Yoga for Menopause, Yoga for Bone Health, and Menopause Awareness and Strategies CPD courses.

On social media, I post about menopause: tips for exercise, stress reduction and nutrition, & deeply felt shifting of perspectives on aging. Of course I also advertise my classes for women, & trainings for those who support them.

Usually they are seen by a reasonable amount of you, & I get messages often expressing gratitude that I have helped you navigate your menopause journey, and/or inspired you as a teacher.

Not so much lately. Lately I have posted about all the above but have also been posting and sharing about, and fundraising for the humanitarian crisis unfolding. As you can imagine, I don’t use the same hashtags for that.

Now, when I post about my work I get alerts from Instagram saying my posts are being seen by fewer people. They say it’s because I have posted less. That may be somewhat true, because sometimes when I go to post, I feel that it is superficial given what humans around the world are facing. But I have been posting pretty regularly. So I also think that fewer people are seeing my posts because I have not been using my usual hashtags as much. Perhaps.

I’m trying to do my bit for humans in need, but I also need to sustain my business, feed my family, and I also still want to support women in menopause, because you still need it.

So my hope is that if you like my material, and you think it worth commenting on, liking, or sharing, that you would do so for me. It could be this post, or it could be any of the posts in my profile.

With gratitude in advance!

Niamh.💜💜🙏🙏
