🌑 Winter Solstice. The longest night. The quiet turning. 🌑
Tonight the earth pauses, breath held, before the light begins its slow return. The Winter Solstice invites us inward, into stillness, reflection, and gentle intention.
An old Celtic tradition speaks of 13 wishes or steps. One for each lunar cycle ahead. Not demands. Not goals. But soft soul-whispers planted in the dark.
✨ A simple Solstice ritual ✨
• Light a candle or sit with the fire
• Take 13 slips of paper
• On each one, write a wish, quality, or intention for the coming year
• Fold them and keep them somewhere sacred
Over the next 12 months, release one wish at each full moon. Burn it, bury it, or return it to the earth. Trust that what is meant to grow will grow.
On the final moon, read the last wish. This is the one you consciously tend with your own hands and heart.
The Solstice reminds us that rest is not laziness. Darkness is not emptiness. Seeds are doing their deepest work underground.
May your wishes be rooted, your nervous system soothed, and your light return gently, in its own time 🌿🕯️
