Eeeeep!!!!!!!
I cannot tell you how much I am beaming from ear to ear posting this 🥹🥹😭😭🥰🥰

I won’t lie to you when I first set up The Children’s Physio Ireland in 2021 it was a leap of faith. As I’ve said many times before, the physio bit I was ok about but the business part…well winging it was putting it mildly😂😂

In truth I have had so many amazing supporters along the way including my amazing family, friends, other fab Paediatric Physios, ALL the crew and the wonderful 🫶🫶

4 years in and I wouldn’t change it for all the world, helping children and their families every single day is why we do what we do and I am so so excited to see where we go next 🙌🎉🙌🎉

Service Update!!!!🎉🎉🎉

We are delighted to announce the extension of our Active Kids Service in collaboration with and 🙌🙌🙌

Firstly can I just take a moment to thank the entire Compass Physio and Trim Physio Teams……they have listened to me for years going on (and on!!!!) about how kids and teens should NOT be treated or managed in the same way you would an adult 👩🧑🏻‍🦱 Without hesitation they took this on board and recognised that we must do better 🤗🤗

I honestly cannot tell you how happy this makes me!!!These ladies have worked so hard in the background and continue to do so every day all with the theme of providing an excellent service for your child 🫶🫶

We’ve moved house!!!!!🎉🎉

Ok well truthfully we moved house 2 weeks ago…..I’m just getting a chance to do an official post now!!!!🙈🤣

So as of two weeks ago our official Children’s Physio Ireland moved headquarters from the Compass Physio in Enfield, Co Meath, to their Kilcock Clinic in Co Kildare🎉🎉

Whilst this is a temporary move (we have big plans on the horizon!!!) it has been one that has been in the pipelines for some time….and has been worth the wait!!

The new space is truly beautiful, warm, cosy and did I mention spacious?!?!Very grateful to be able to call this space home for now…..just wait until you see how many toys I will fill it with!!!!😂😂

Jumping Explained ⭐️⭐️

As we continue to look at the physical skills our little one’s gain between 1-2 years….jumping is another one of those wonderful milestones!!
Don’t be surprised if this one takes a little while to master, or if it looks like more if a skip initially 🤗🤗
There are lots of things you can do to help encourage jumping but if for any reason your little person struggles with this please make sure to link in with your GP/PHN or local Paediatric Physiotherapist 🫶🫶

Calling all Private Practitioners…..do you happen to see sporty kids or youth athletes in your clinic??If so this is a course not to be missed 🙌🙌

I cannot stress the importance of the fact that we need to be treating these young people differently to the adult population 👩🧑Remember the phrase “kids are not mini-adults” well this is something that lives by.

Some very exciting news!!!!!🎉🎉

Today we launch our brand new Service……Active Kids Ireland 🙌🎉🙌🎉

Active Kids Ireland will be our Musculoskeletal Service and will primarily focus on those children and young adults with knee pain, back pain, sports injuries, flat feet and post-op rehabilitation to name a few.

Also I cannot tell you how happy I am to have Ciara Neville join me at The Children’s Physio Ireland. Ciara is an excellent clinician who has been working hard in the background to upskill in this specialist area…..truly a nicer girl you could not meet🥰🤗

Here’s to such exciting things to come!!!!

Happy World Physiotherapy Day!!!!🙌🎉🙌

Right folks, as sad and all as this may sound I wholeheartedly LOVE being a physiotherapist…yep I did just say that ❤️❤️

When I first qualified in 2007, I genuinely thought I would work with adults forever….maybe work in sports, but a chance rotation onto a Paediatric ward a year later changed my life forever 🤗🤗

Paediatric physio is one of THE most rewarding, engaging, fun and sometimes the hardest job you could ever do…..but I wouldn’t change it in a heartbeat🥰🥰

So here’s to all the Paediatric Physiotherapist’s out there (and all other Physio’s too!!)…..ye are truly amazing and I am proud to stand amoung you ❤️❤️

As mentioned there is a massive range in ages when it comes to starting to walk and anywhere from 9-18 months is considered normal 🙌🙌

Next Wednesday 6th July at 6pm I will be hosting a webinar via zoom aimed specifically for those final year Physiotherapy students or newly qualified Physiotherapists.

The aim of this webinar is to give you an insight into what Paediatric Physiotherapy is, what conditions we typically see and what life is like working with children on a daily basis 👶🏻👧🏼

In order of giving you a well rounded view of this profession I am truly delighted to say I have three other highly experienced Paediatric Physiotherapists joining me!!!!Their aim will be to give you an idea of what it is like to work in the Acute, Primary Care and Complex Disability settings in Ireland.

How to teach your little one to come down from standing!!🤗🤗

This morning’s video takes you through a little demo of what to teach your baby when getting them to come back down to the floor from standing!!!

I’m not going to lie folks this one takes a fair bit of control so don’t be surprised if your little one struggles with this transition initially.

Start to introduce this gradually and most importantly….enjoy the process 🤗🥰
