Stubborn nail fungus? 🦶🏻

Our ND:YAG laser works by emitting a series of flashes of infrared light which is aimed across the whole nail, including the cuticles. This heats up and destroys the fungus that is present. To ensure complete coverage, the whole series is repeated five times on each nail, so the flashes overlap.

Because the fungus can spread from one toe to another, all ten toes are treated, even if fungus is only visible on one or two. Treatment is fast, only 10 minutes.

You will need 5 treatments.

You will need to follow some homecare routines.

ND:YAG provides the best available treatment in terms of efficacy and comfort.

This is what hyperpigmentation in your skin looks like. Hyperpigmentation is very common that makes some areas of the skin darker than the surrounding skin. It appears as uneven darkened patches or spots on your skin.

Port wine stains are a type of vascular birthmark characterized by their red or purple color, caused by an overabundance of capillaries (small blood vessels) in the affected area. These marks often appear on the face and neck but can develop anywhere on the body. Unlike some other types of birthmarks, port wine stains do not fade over time and usually persist throughout a person’s life.

Treatment options for port wine stains typically include laser therapy and intense pulsed light (IPL) therapy. Here’s how each helps:

Laser Therapy: Specific laser such as ND:Yag laser taret hemoglobin the blood and effectively reduce the appearance of port wine stains. The laser delivers concentrated light energy that primarily affects the abnormal blood vessels, causing them to collapse and fade.

IPT (Intense Pulse Light): IPL utilise a broad spectrum of light to target blood vessels. Similar to laser therapy but covering a wider range of wavelengths. The light energy is absorbed by the hemoglobin in the vessels, leading to coagulation and subsequent absorption by the body. This can decrease the intensity of the stain over time.

A combination of both ND:Yag laser and IPL may be used. After a series of treatments, a significant lightening of the stain occurs, although complete removal may not be possible. Both proceures are generally well-tolerated, very quick though may cause temporary discomfort and swelling. Results are individual based on the characteristics of their birthmark.

Both treatments can effectively reduce the visibility of port wine stains and improve the skin’s appearance, boosting the self-esteem and quality of life for many patients.
