We couldn’t let the occasion pass without celebrating our lovely resident Anna’s husband on his big birthday. If ever there was a beautiful story, these two would be the stars – they recently marked their 62nd wedding anniversary as well!

Continuing with our staff appreciation, today we celebrated Rose and Carol from our reception team. They are the very first people our visitors meet, always offering a warm and friendly welcome. Rose and Carol are there for both staff and residents alike, always ready to help with whatever is needed. We are so grateful for all that they do every day.

✨ What a week we had celebrating Nursing Homes Ireland Week under the theme “A Taste of Home”! ✨

🍰 We baked delicious fruit scones with our ladies and gents.
🥘 Brendan’s Dublin Coddle was a huge hit—gone in minutes!
🧸 We welcomed Twinklekids Playgroup for a teddy bear picnic, serving jelly & ice cream—pure nostalgia with little ones at our feet.
🎬 Karen’s Taste the Movie night brought us Swiss cheese (Sound of Music), burgers & shakes (Grease), and hot choc with sweets (Charlie & the Chocolate Factory).
🍛 Volunteer Sadia shared her beautiful chicken biryani.
🥔 On National Potato Day, Annette demonstrated how to make traditional potato cakes—an old favourite that went down a treat!
🍨 We ended with a fun Great Bake Off—Chef Philip wowed us with sherry trifle while we attempted apple tart!

A week of food, laughter, and lovely memories 💙

Full house today,when our visiting chef Philip Gleeson from our local kilashee hotel kindly visited and prepared the age-old desert Sherry Trifle, with I might add plenty tips from the audience. Thank you, Philip, for taking time out from your busy schedule, and we can assure you the Trifle was delicious 😋
