At a special meeting of Network Ireland’s National Executive Committee, Branch Presidents and Vice Presidents this weekend, Maria Desmond was elected Vice President Designate of Network Ireland.

Maria will serve as Vice President in 2027 and National President in 2028.

Regional Fundraising Manager with Enable Ireland, Maria brings a wealth of experience to the role with a background in marketing, market research and business, and currently serves in the role of AIB Liaison.

President Karen Ronan welcomed the announcement: “Maria is a natural collaborator who combines vision with action, and I look forward to working with her and our Vice President to create real impact.”

Speaking about her appointment, Maria said, “I am honoured to have been elected as VPD and look forward to working with President Karen Ronan, Vice President Sinéad O'Neill and the rest of the team. Having served on the Network Ireland Cork Branch committee since 2018 and the National Executive Committee since 2023, I have a deep understanding of our organisation and look forward to further supporting the professional and personal development of women in business.”

Last Wednesday night, networking was at its absolute best 💜

Set in the stunning Killashee Hotel, our annual Member Business Showcase brought together the very best of the best - members from near and far, new corporate faces, and a room filled with energy, connection, and opportunity.
The atmosphere was incredible - businesses on display, meaningful conversations flowing, familiar faces reconnecting, and new relationships beginning.

We were also treated to two outstanding guest speakers:

Amy O'Sullivan of AOS Consulting delivered an insightful session on using Linkedin for business growth. From understanding the algorithm to building a strong personal brand and creating content that truly connects, her message was clear and impactful:

"People buy from people — authenticity is key."

Sophie Dooley, CEO of Emerge with Sophie, brought a completely different but equally powerful perspective.

Her interactive session focused on mindset, wellbeing, and performance, encouraging us to rethink how we think. Her key message really landed:

We finished on a wonderful high, with ex-officio Helen Dillon presenting a cheque for over €28,000 to Dearbhail O'Rourke from The Little Way Cancer Support in Clane, Co. Kildare - an incredible result from last year's NI Kildare Branch Charity Luncheon.
