In 1472, Kobido emerged from a months-long competition between two master Anma practitioners in Suruga, now Shizuoka. Recognizing each other's extraordinary skills, they collaborated to establish Kobido, a distinctive practice with 48 advanced techniques.
Over centuries, Kobido's exclusivity persisted as new masters inherited its techniques. Adapting to evolving trends, the clinic incorporated advanced treatments like moisturizing, cleansing, masques, and skincare practices during the mid-Meiji era when French styles influenced Japan.
Post-World War II, Kobido's 25th generation master relocated to Ginza, Tokyo, creating an ultra-exclusive clinic dedicated to serving the rich and famous during Japan's economic boom in the 1950s.
Master Ito, with only three apprentices during his lifetime, passed the legacy to Dr. Shogo Mochizuki in 2006. As the 26th generation master, Mochizuki continues Kobido's tradition while adapting treatments to stay at the forefront of facial care, ensuring it remains the pinnacle of advanced and exclusive skincare.
