What an amazing few days it was to help and work with The Cycling Ireland Womens Commission Team in the Prestigious 16th Edition of the Rรกs Na Mban Event which headquartered in Kilkenny again this year .
Team Manager Jennifer and Top Cyclists Orla , Cora , Shauna , Emma & Aoife performed brilliantly throughout the Six Stages and Five Days of Racing around the Picturesque Counties of Laois & Kilkenny.
The standard of these top athletes was unbelievable and a privilege to watch and witness on the last day of the Stage which involved a gruelling Time Trial early Sunday morning followed by a Criterium which consisted of a non stop 45 minute 2.5k lap of the city with a final 5 lap sprint finish .
Well done to all involved and canโ€™t wait for next year ๐Ÿšด๐Ÿ‡ฎ๐Ÿ‡ช๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ‘

Even though we are in our 3rd Lockdown I hope everyone is making the effort to get out in the fresh air and get some exercise be it a walk , a run ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ or do your own workout ๐Ÿ‹๏ธโ€โ™€๏ธ or you can exercise at home ๐Ÿก as it helps our mental and physical well being and helps us to stay positive ๐Ÿ˜€.๏ฟผ
So just to let you know Dehydration and the link to muscle fatigue and soreness is a significant concern anyone training both in or outdoors.

After a workout, particularly if it was intense or in warmer conditions, you may experience muscle soreness as a result of dehydration. If there is insufficient intake of fluids, there will be a decrease in blood flow, causing tightness in the muscles. Prolonged training in this way can cause more serious muscle damage.

When the muscles first become dehydrated, the elasticity and flexibility will be lost. This increases the risk of muscle tears and strains. Delayed onset muscle soreness (DOMS), are often worsened by failing to replace fluids lost during the workout. If the muscle soreness goes beyond discomfort and develops into pain, you run the risk of a more serious muscle injury.
So itโ€™s important to have a bottle of water ๐Ÿ’ฆ with you and keep hydrated. Also warm up & stretch and cool down and stretch with exercise ๐Ÿ’ช.
Take care and do the best you can to keep going and stay positive ๐Ÿ˜€
