Spent an incredible few days in Manchester last week connecting with . It was a massive opportunity to pull back the curtain on my own treatment and rehabilitation approaches for athletes, while diving deep into Wyndell’s methodology for teaching acceleration and coaching elite speed.
There’s nothing better than two professionals sharing, learning, and refining the craft. Huge thanks to Wyndell for the hospitality and the masterclass in movement. Back home now and ready to put these insights into play with my own athletes.

Fresh from the EYOF .daly1 is back in action in the 4 x 100m on Saturday. Molly has the 200m A standard for these championships at just 17yrs running 23.67 🔥back in June! Seriously talented, seriously fast!

Calf rehab needs to be specific to the individual. Calf raises simple don’t cut it . Before getting fancy with rehab the basics must be right . Common issues I see with calf rehabilitation and performance are:

1. What are we actually targeting? Med/lat calves , soleus etc.
2. No weighted progression
3. No consideration for the intrinsic and extrinsic stabilisers of the foot.
4. Foot foot strength
5. Graded RTS
6. Ankle mobility including all the joints of the foot.
7. Fibula motion - if you have ever rolled your ankle this will be stiff !
